Unstable new rig
k i've got a broken wrist and i'm typing with 1 hand so forgive my mistakes.My new rig is being kinda unstable, sometimes it restarts when booting xp, and if i install the drivers off the cd i got with my new gfx card i get SHIT loads if screen tearing and it's unreadable, in vista i get the message about installing standard vga drvers first.i haven't tried clearing the cmos yet, i'll try that if i can with 1 hand...please help

Reinstall all and before that do backups of all important data. It's usually recommended action when doing upgrades.

I don't actually have any data yet, new hdd.i noticed that after installing the cd drivers for this card i can't get into windows anymore, it gts to the windows loading screen, then it tears, tries to start windows and restarts

So you just upgraded you computer and you already had ati card before that and you installed older drivers from the cd? or did you do reinstallation of windows and then installed old drivers from cd?

it was a new hdd so i did a clean install of windows and tried installing the drivers from the NEW cd i got.

why you didn't go to ati.amd.com and downloaded newest drivers? Since I bet that those on CD were old ... So now it seems that you must install windows again ...

I've tried installing from ati's website, i've tried off different cd's i've tried everything, and the same thing happens everytime.
i rang ccl's tech support about it and they said bring the card in and i should be able to ge a replacement, the guy on the phone said the card is prolly faulty then if the extra features enabled by the drivers are causing faults.
