Need To Replace My Scanner

I've been using a old HP flatbed scanner for the last couple years, but it finally died last weekend. As I do some graphic work I like to have a scanner on hand. I've been doing some searching online but can't seem to find something that will work with Vista. Would you guys have any recommendations? I'd like to keep the price between $80-$125, if possible.

Man, good luck!!

When I was using the Vista Betas last summer and fall, I, too, found out that my legal-size flatbed scanner would not work. I contacted the vendor: UMAX, and was told they may not even consider making drivers for it! It's USB, for crying out loud!

However, I did find that a Lexmark X-83 combo Printer/Copier/Scanner would work. But, it's not legal size.

If you can get a good deal on a combo unit, I'd go that route.

BTW, UMAX told me if I wanted to continue using their scanner, I'd likely have to use a Dual Boot system or stick with XP. How's that for technical support?

I just bought the Epson RX580 which is an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier from Best Buy. It's on sale right now and came to $130 before tax. The scanner is fast and produces nice copies and the printer can print directly onto CDs/DVDs which I needed for my business. For the price it can't be beat though it looks to be slightly more expensive than you want to spend. I do recommend it though.

I guess I got lucky, I found a flatbed scanner almost right in my price range and it comes with drivers for vista. Sofar I'm liking it very much.

Completely and utterly irrelevant to your inquiry.....However with a rig like you have I will be expecting to see you turn up in Roadee's fastest rig competition

Even if you have never overclocked, now is a good time to start, and that rig is prime for OCing

Ya know sfunny you should mention OCing, my rig. My processor is one of those engineer samples, ES is the nickname I think. But i have no knowledge of what or how to go about OCing my rig. Wouldn't know where to start.

ES generally are very good OCers

Havent you ever wondered what all those shiny options are in your BIOS? Especially on that 680i which has independent memory clocking... meaning the memory settings isnt bothered by overclocking the FSB. Usually when you overclock the FSB ram frequency must increase with the increase in FSB..... Confusing if you dont know what im talking about, but I wish all boards/chipsets did this
