PSU Upgrade for XPS 410?

Can anyone recommend a good PSU upgrade for my XPS 410? I'm looking to possibly upgrade my video card but the default PSU is only a 350 watt, so I need to change that out and I prefer not to go through Dell as they would charge an arm and a leg for an upgrade. Thanks!

Nick

just so you know, Dell PSUs are the only ones that work, few companies come out with Dell compatible PSU's the only one i know of is PC power and cooling and they're only up to 470w and only one PCI-E connector.

That's weird because I upgraded another Dell box recently with a standard PSU without any problems. The difference is though the XPS models are a BTX form factor vs the ATX which I recently upgraded. I'm used to working with ATX boxes, but this Dell XPS BTX PSU looks just like an ATX power supply. Even the screw holes match up from what I can tell. I was just curious if anyone else out that had experience with putting an ATX PSU into a Dell XPS unit basically.

The other reason I'm finding out if someone else had tried a third party PSU is because I currently don't have another one to try in my box at the moment and I don't want to pick one up just for this test.

that's because BTX PSUs are the same as ATX PSUs. so, you can bring your old ATX PSU to your new BTX machine.

also, go see if you can borrow a PSU from somebody you know or a pc repair shop to see if they can let you try a tester PSU in your machine.

@ kris: when doing any kind of hardware changes/upgrades, anything can go wrong. the weirdest ones i've seen, have been when people just move the computer from one room to another, and then the machine won't post anymore. i find those funny though . so yea, there will always be a risk when working with hardware .
