Just a quick glance over that article I noticed this difference in what they're talking about:
"Micron Technology, Inc., today announced sample availability of the industry’s fastest main memory 1 gigabit (Gb) DDR2 components, capable of running at 1066 megabits per second (Mbps)."
The DDR2 RAM that you and I are familiar with is designed to run at 1066 MHz.
I'm checking for more information. Stay tuned....

It's actually a mistype, Dyre.
What isn't being explained is that up until recently there were no "official" 1066mhz ram. There is ram being sold that goes higher, but what is trully designed to run at those speeds, and what is "capable" are 2 different things. As far as I remember anything being sold as 1066mhz ram is actually hand picked ram "capable" of doing 1066mhz, either from batches that were designed to be faster (such as 1200mhz, but didn't meet the spec), or cream of the crop ram that was capable of going higher than spec (such as 1000mhz ram capable of going a little higher). Because of this there is always a short supply of 1066mhz capable ram, and as such prices are always too high. What the press release indicates is that Micron now has ram that is officially, by design, running at a speed of 1066mhz off the assembly line. That means you should see an increase in volume, and a decrease in prices.
Here's something else: if they do the same hand picking of ram that they did to find ones capable of running at 1066mhz, with this new process they will probably find that they also have ones capable of going even faster.

the Micron’s new DDR2-1066 modules will be spec'ed to operate at the JEDEC standard CAS latency and @ 1.8 volts.
i think this can be also mean there will be more and more natively support DDR2-1066 motherboard's platform available widely soon by motherboard makers.

according to this below info there is no "D10" include in the new Micron’s DDR2-1066 modules part number (not under the sampling design modules anyway)

Thanks!
There were parts of that article that just weren't adding up. Someone needs to edit it and re-post it with corrections.

well it was kinda answered for me already, i was asking why they said the were coming out with the first 1066mhz ram when it was already out. thrn they said that the memory was really hand picked stuff and never really designed for those speeds.
this memory was designed for those speeds and probably can get better performance.

kris23, so that means your questioning about the "D10" and "Z9" things (which i assumed you meant the Micron's FBGA code, the digits code found in the chip marking) was also already answered then? yes?
i've tried my best to interpret your questions under your post #4 and #8, you see my English is not good and in the case that if i assumed wrong, i must ask you to interpret those questions of yours for me.

Yes he was reffering to the FBGA codes, D9*** coded ICs and such, so he figured the new 1066 standard would be D10.
However they went to Z9 as your posted pointed out, from my interpretation as english being my first language, I would say you did a fine job Panging
