Looking for a good quality 19" widescreen LCD monitor

I'm a gamer and I need a good quality 19" widescreen LCD monitor for my comp. I searched around and the best I've seen is 1440 x 900 resolution at 75 Hz. I know the good brandnames are Samsung, Sharp, BenQ and Sony but I don't know exactly what model to buy. Any recommendations?

Currently it seems this Samsung is the best:

Samsung SyncMaster 931BW Black 19" Widescreen
1440 x 900/75Hz
2000:1
2 ms
DVI Analog RGB
$259.99 CDN
http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...286&cid=MT.983

Also, is maximum resolution native resolution? Because I know you are supposed to run lcds at their native resolution or it looks bad. The resolution listed for the Samsung was maximum res, so I dunno...

Thats a nice monitor, but however its only dynamically 2000:1 and static 700:1. Static is the one you will see all the time, canadacomputers has conveniently left out that its 700:1 static and 2000:1 DC..... But if you dont want a widescreen monitor, I highly suggest Samsung SyncMaster 940BF 2ms 19".

I had one before I got my 22" widescreen, and it worked wonders no ghosting, no dead pixels, slight backlight bleed when looking at a solid black image, but nothing you cant deal with.

if widescreen is not a necessity then NEC makes a decent 19" LCD screen

thanks Chaos, but I am actually looking for a 19" widescreen.

I've narrowed my search down to 2 monitors, but now i'm confused. I see a Samsung 931BW, a Samsung 906BW, and I don't know the difference. I looked at their specs at Samsung,

906BW http://www.samsung.com/Products/Moni...Specifications
931BW http://www.samsung.com/Products/Moni...Specifications

and I can't tell which one to buy- is there a difference, or
does Samsung just like releasing the exact same lcd with a different model number.

I also could not find a vendor that sold both models so I can't do a price comparison.

I looked over the specs real quick, nothing at all I can see different, also if you have around $400... I highly suggest you look at this one
22" Widescreen 226BW by Samsung, its the one I currently use and can say its a gorgeous display. Possibly the best I have seen.

Its under $400 actually, but shipping is meh

I use a Samsung 930BF for over a year now and it is a great monitor. I can't advice on a specific WS monitor but Samsung is a good company for one.

If you plan on keeping it for more than a year or two then I suggest you get something that also has HDMI.

In my experience Samsung has been the best, ive used LG and Sony and they are crap compared to the 2 samsungs I own, previously a 940BF great lil 19"..and the new 226BW I bought I sware by, its so crisp and I cant really pick out any flaws in it unless your looking for them.
