Newbie Pc builder cannot get BIOS/Graphics output. RESOLVED

Hi people, I bought a P5B delux [non wifi] with a 1.86 C2D 2gig of Corsair twin x ram, 320 7200.10 seagate and a HPdvd940i optical.

Oh and a Sapphire x1950 pro.

First time builder and I cannot get any graphics on boot to my dell 2407. I have tried both DVI outputs on the card and still nothing. I do not have the experience to know if it is something simple I have gotten wrong. Sorry but there are no pictures just this second but I will walk through what I have done.

Hooked up HDD to sata port 1 out of 6 on the mobo, supplied it with power from the corsair 620w modular PSU I have.
Put in the optical drive, set the jumpers to master and attached what was labelled as a "HDD cable" [Think its just IDE] to the mobo and supplied power.

Added the CPU and clicked on the heatsink and installed it's fan.

Installed the case fans akasa 120mm ambers...

Installed the x1950 into the blue pci-e 16x lane and supplied it with the "PCI-E" power lead from then PSU.

Added one gig of the 2 gigs of ram into dimm A1.

Hooked up the front panel, off we go.

It turns on, all the fans are working, mobo lights up to blue for soft power off and lights up red as it should for power on. Everything is whirling [1950 makes a racket ] but no error beeps and no monitor output.

I am kind of stumped. Can anyone point some things out I have probably got wrong?
