Need.... easy bios for old system or a bios upgrade file for a 6abx3 luckystar
I have an old system that needs the hd utillity usally loaded by maxtor or wd HD setup disks.... it called easy bios ... the drive I am working on is generic so I have no clue were to get it for this drive any help would be hot!!!

not he wants an easy way to work with bios
Easy Bios is a program
well Neon your best bet would be to check maxtor and WD's site

you may not find that disk utility program on the net anymore since its very old.. anyway could you provide more info such as what kind of bios limit on the system?

well when I manually enter the setting in the bios it says 33 gm even though it's clearly a forty but when I save and exit it goes back to calling it 2 gb... It had a 10gb in it before and I am trying to put a 40 gb in it...
As for the utillity I cant find it int's intergaterd in maxtor and wd software but they wond let you load it on a drive that not thiers.....
I can find that the lates bios is 2001 / dowloads are gone and the lasted found is 4/1999 posted above I am hopeing to find the newer bios

okay what you've on the system is called "The 2GB BIOS limit" ... try to search for this artical "The BIOS IDE Harddisk Limitations" and if i can find it b4 you then it'll be here.

if you can get firmware(bios) dated 2001 or 2002 it'll also help ... try to d/l at the 1st link(zdnet) i gave you again and will also get you some more links leter on
