X2 or FX core

What would be better in Vista a 4600X2 @ 2.4 939socket or a FX55 @2.6 939socket
Just wondering because i want the best out of Vista i can get. Gaming wise would the dual core be better or would the single core? Because right now i cant afford the new technology for a Direct X10 card at the moment. What ever one i choose will be running the home premium version 32bit. Let me know what all guys think thanks..........

For most games, the FX will be better, though not by much, and for multitasking, the X2 will be far superior, due to the dual cores. I'd go for the dual cores.

More games are starting to support multicore CPUs, so it's the way to go.
