Bellator is on a distinguished road

why are ps/2 ports color coded?

if the mouse ps/2 connector and the keyboard ps/2 connector are identical, why does it matter which port you plug them in to?

I ask because I am using a generic USB to PS/2 converter, and I am wondering if I can use it for either my mouse or keyboard (both USB), or if since it is green I can only use it as a mouse adapter?

(I need the adapter because I am dual booting xp and 98, but I can't get 98 to recognize my usb interface devices...)

Randomletters will become famous soon enough

Because on the motherboard it self if you plug a mouse into the keyboard ps2 it wont work and vice versa.

You should be able to use the adapter as long as your plugging it into the correct connector in the motherboard.

The colors of the ADAPTORS won't make a diffference. They could be Orange and Yellow, and they would still work. Just as long as you plug the mouse into the MOUSE port and the KB into the KB port you will be OK.

A mouse gives different input values than a keyboard and vice versa.... so they have to be different. Just because your penis will fit in an exhaust pipe doesn't mean its a good place to put it, so consider that

Moral of the story: Just because it fits doesn't mean it'll work
