memory timings. 6, row active delay - 3 row to cas - 3 row to precharge - 2 CAS latency time. Those numbers are nanoseconds. Sorry that this isn't so descriptive. I bet you can find a guide online to explain it all to you.

What brand? That has a huge effect on how high (low) you can go.

Micron/Samsung or both good brands I've used both and never had a problem with them. Hmm...far as timings go you should check and see what it says for the ratings from where your buying it from. I would advise you to get Cas 2 ram if you can.

yep. run them as aggressive as possible. aggressive = lower number btw. Only way you'll know is to try it. bench with your relaxed stock SPD settings then set to user defined and crank them down and bench again. I'd bench using Sandra mem bench.... if you crank all and can not boot, try one setting at a time until you see which is giving you trouble.

It is but I think GS has a budget and XMS maybe a bit out of reach for him. Besides I've been putting off buying another stick myself so I can run duals because it's like $165.00 plus shipping for another stick. I want it but I can't justify the 3% performance increase that I would receive with it. However, many friends tell me it's worth it. Convince me if you can!!

I really like my Crucial memory, it's just getting out dated now- I need to get some faster ram and a new NForce 2 board- Can't wait.

Also, general. If you are still not sure whether you have a 2100 Palamino or T-Bred you can check. Just look at the CPU core. If it looks like square it is Palamino. If it is very rectangular it is a T-Bred.
