What is your favorite Web Browser?
This is something that a lot of people dont actually know about. I have asked this of customers... I 9 out of 10 times just get a blank stare.
I am surprised that so many people dont know that there is more out there than Internet Explorer.
So, please vote for your favorite, and then list the reasons why you use that browser.
Have fun

My personal favorite is Phoenix Browser,
you can get a copy here.
I like it because it is fast, supports tab browsing, and it is free.

What build?
As far as Phoenix, there is a new build available in the nightly builds... MOST excellent.

I have Mozilla 1.1, haven't gotten around to intalling 1.3 yet
Actually, even though Mozilla is my fave, I'm using Phoenix pretty much full-time, the regular 0.5.
I know there's new builds everyday, but even the newest is still too quirky, I just stick with 0.5 instead of installing everyday.

I had to put other simply due to the fact that for different sites I use different browsers.
For me ie6 seems to have issues with sites like pricewatch that use a database.
for driverheaven ie6 also has issues with the initial site access that other browsers dont seem to have
so for me its mostly opera and ie6 unless im in an artsy mood then its onto mozilla and netscape

actually i just discovered something rather odd.
for some reason if i use the ip for DH then its not a problem whatsoever in ie6 (was doin some trace routes to see if it could have been something between here and the server) but if I use www.driverheaven.net or driverheaven.net or any variation thereof rather than the actual ip it does....not sure why the hell it would make a difference but then again that is microsoft for ya eh?

Not to mention IE's security flaws, and alot of patches and fixes to keep track on. I mean both IE and Opera has their shares of security exploits, but I've seen less issues with Opera, than IE; in terms of security...

Apples and Oranges comparison really.
IE has the most security holes because around 95% of the internet community uses it so more crackers target it for weaknesses
Mozilla has the best security because
1) It's not as popular so you don't get as many crackers trying to exploit it
2) It's open source and there's more people auditing the code since it hit version 1 than there are people writing new code for it.
3) It has loads of privacy settings like not allowing popups or malicious portions of javascript.
Opera is a strange best. For such a small userbase (in comparison to IE) and for a closed source product it's security (in terms of needing a patch) has been pretty good. I'd actually say that the programmers for Opera are pretty damn good seeing as only 2 major holes have been found in opera since the launch of version 7.
Also there's the security patch turnaround time.
Mozilla normally gets security patches out the same day as the exploit is found.
Opera noramlly gets it's patches out the next working day or two.
IE still has 14 exploitable holes of with 6 are over 6 months old.
Now you know why I insist my parents use either Mozilla or Opera. My dad prefers mozilla and my mum prefers Opera. I prefer Mozilla myself. I've even submitted a few bug reports and *gasp* a patch! Didn't get accepted though as someone else wrote a better one. Ah well

IE 6 SP1, because I have never tried anything else. I'm just used to it I guess- It's plenty fast (instant) for me. So I see no need to change.

I'm torn between Opera 7.02 and IE 6 sp1.
I use IE a lot, but I tend to use Opera evey now and then. So IE wins by a hair.

I use IE6 all the time (now with SP1) - it works the best with all the sites I regularly visit. If you disable JavaScript (which you should *always* do, not only on IE) and also disable the sh!tty Java VM, you'll have nothing to worry about any leaks. Only enable it for pages which are definitely 100% thrustworthy!
The only decent alternative (until now) is Opera, but it still has some problems displaying some pages properly.
Other than that... Netscape has more bugs than a dog got fleas, and pitiful stability as well - I wouldn't touch it with a 10 inch pole. Mozilla, who is based on it, isn't that much better yet... only Phoenix (which is also Mozilla-based) could be a nice alternative someday, perhaps.

Opera 7.03. Usefull, fast, efficient and beautifull too. The runner up would be Phoenix and IE 6.0SP1. Mozilla is dead last in my mind cuz it's too slow and has really too much build into it (bloatware).
