Anyone have a Viewsonic VP2030b LCD? I'm curious about it...

About the only other LCD that I considered before I bought a Samsung 204b was the Viewsonic VP2030b LCD, but at the time it was over $100 more at the time. Still is, it seems.

I was wondering if anyone has one and if so how they like it and how it might compare. If someone does have it, would you please share your impressions?

Thanks

A quick check on Compare Components shows that that Viewsonic has a 8MS response while the Samsung has a 5MS. Samsung would definitely be better in that regard.

I'm trying to get a feel for the display quality, if the anti-glare dulls it a bit, all that sort of stuff.

It's $449 at Newegg. The Samsung 204b at Best Buy is $319.

I'm kinda wanting to know if it is the display quality that justifies the cost, or if it is just the USB 2.0 hub or something else that justifies it.

I wish I could see one in person and compare side by side, but nobody local stocks them. It's strange. I would have thought it would be more popular and available.

The Samsung is a GREAT LCD - no joke. But I can't help but be curious.

Drakon will become famous soon enough

I bought one (vp2030b) from ebay. Should arrive this week. Behardware.com wrote an article about both monitors last year: http://www.behardware.com/articles/6...6-8-16-ms.html

Thanks for the link. Interesting article to be sure.

Congrats on getting the new monitor! I hope it turns out to be an awesome deal and works well for ya.

If you don't mind, would you be willing to post some follow-up after it arrives and mention what you like / don't like about it, how the image quality is, how it is for gaming, if it has any aspect ratio scaling settings in the monitor firmware / setup itself, stuff like that?

It would be nice to hear it from someone who has one.

Again, thanks.
