MICROLINE 420 Black Impact Printer

Oki Data Americas, Inc. today announced the newest addition to its MICROLINE(R) series of impact printers. The MICROLINE 420 Black cabinet colored 9-Pin impact printer joins OKI's line of Tank-Tough(R) impact printers. Now users of this OKI(R) brand line of products will benefit from a darker colored model for use in dirty or harsh environments without the loss of specifically designed features that deliver superior reliability and lightning fast output in the most demanding environments.

The MICROLINE 420, a product in the MICROLINE 400 Series of impact printers, can now be purchased with a black cabinet color. End users in demanding or dirty environments can now benefit from this aesthetic, as the printer will hide most signs of environmental wear while still continuing to perform with unmatched reliability, productivity and cost efficiency. This new MICROLINE solution will also add another sales tool in a reseller's arsenal, as more and more integrated PC systems are being sold in black.

No performance feature will be changed in the new ML 420 Black impact printer. It will still offer an industry-leading 20,000 hours MTBF backed by a 3-year standard warranty(1) with warranty extensions up to 5 years. The ribbon life will also remain at 4 million characters to further enhance productivity in the toughest printing environments. And, the ML 420 Black impact printers will still print at a lightning-fast speed of 570 characters per second (cps), making it the fastest impact printer in its category.

The OkiLAN(R) 6120i internal 10/100 BaseT print server is offered as an option for the MICROLINE 420 and it supports Windows(R) XP, NT 4.0, 2000, 98, 95, and MS-DOS(R). Each printer comes with 128K of memory standard as well as IEEE Parallel and USB connectivity.

Oki Data holds the number one market share position for impact printers in North America and continues to gain market share points in the distribution channel according to NPD Intellect(2). "Our new MICROLINE 420 Black was designed with dirty and harsh environments in mind," stated Carl Taylor, Marketing Manager for Impact Printers at Oki Data. "Now, end users can maintain the aesthetics of their working environment while continuing to see optimum performance and maximizing productivity."
