Samsung SyncMaster 191T - Won't Work

I have a brother-in-law who asked me to check out his monitor as listed in the subject. What's happening is......nothing.
I've hooked it up to my working second system and all it does is on the front panel, the light toggles between Green and Yellow.

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with these. What I've read about them so far shows a tendency to have problems. So, that's not good. It's a nice looking monitor and 'in the day' he paid a handsome sum for it. But, the problem happened after the warranty expired....as usual.

So, if anyone has some insight on these, please let me know.

do you still have the monitor's manual... just curious... what does it say about the light toggles between Green and Yellow in the troubleshooting section of the manual?

I only have the monitor here. I actually tried a different cable: DVI-to-DVI and it still does it.

The light that changes from green to yellow/orange is the signal indicator. It should stay green when there's a good signal. But, going to yellow/orange means it doesn't have a signal. It's like a CRT that loses sync. Only in this case, there is no image at all from POST to Windows. Nothing...nada.

I've got the exact same problem with my IIyama and had to change over monitors a couple of weeks ago. And now I'm on analogue with a 'lit' pixel that really gets up my nose. Mine light doesn't flash alternate colours but flashes the same colour. Gonna see if I can find the manual. Be right back.

Edit: It says nothin 'bout it - sorry

I'm convinced it's a dead monitor. Nothing I've tried makes any difference at all.

It's sad, too, because this monitor, new, was almost $1000 US.

lgarcia is on a distinguished road

It is not making a good connection. Make sure nothing came unplugged in back. I am running the same monitor. You need the drivers v1.0 Win XP and the upgrade V 1.7 that is NOT on the internet. I have it if you want to email me. I run the same combo flawlessly. Vista is going to be a problem looks like.

Is it possible that something became detached inside the housing? With this swivel mechanism, is that a problem?

I'll be happy to get a hold of that file, too. PM sent.
