System Specs

If your video card is PCIE, and requires the extra power from the power supply (by way of a 4 pin floppy/molex or 6 pin PCIE power connector), then it is quite possible that it is damaged as it would be directly connected to the PSU too. You could be lucky though, and nothing could be wrong, or you may encounter overheating issues, or blocky/missing display data due to a fried ramdac, or other fried parts. Really though, until you get the new PSU (or use a 2x molex to 6 pin PCIE power connector), you won't know for sure.

As for Sapphire, they are pretty good warranty wise. I've dealt with them a number of times, and haven't had an issue. The question is: if the card was damaged due to a blown PSU, technically, it's not their fault, and as such they can refuse to cover the warranty. Most times they are pretty good about it, and will RMA the card under the warranty.

I don't think they'd care what damaged it unless it was obvious that the user intentionally caused the damage in some capacity.

They should just take the return fine and give you a new card

The only way to know is to get it in a system and see what happens.

Hopefully you'll be ok.
