Don't know exactly where i should post this urgent help

Everytime i restart my computer it loads very quickly but it takes a while for the applications to start. Then when i start my internet connection everything seems to lag out for a good 10 minutes or until i turn the internet connection off. Does anyone know how to remedy this problem


i have an amd 3200
1 gig of ram
a 6600 gt 128mb card

what application names?

does this happen on every applications you attempt to launch it right after your Windows desktop is loaded?

what happen if you launch the app and close it and then relaunch it?

System Specs

Do you have any software overclocking utilities installed or a UPS etc, give me some more details of exactly whats happening and what takes time to load (watch for it in the bottom right on the start menu). I know for example that uGuru on the Abit boards takes a while to load as it scans for hardware changes much the same as CPU-Z does when you manually start it. Some antivirus programs which auto-update can also take time to load up if they don't connect to the update server first time.
