Difference between ST3500630A, ST3500630AV and ST3500630AV?20PK?

Hi

I think I need a new HDD in my pc, cause at the beginning I hear a clicking sound inside my pc, but it goes away when it runs a bit

But I saw on a site from a shop in my neighbourhood those drives from seagate

ST3500630A, ST3500630AV and ST3500630AV?20PK

They are all with 16MB buffer, so can somebody tell me any difference between them, they are also PATA

THanks

There shouldn't be any difference, since the drive code is ST3500630A. Seagate does not use V, only S which denotes SATA drives. An ST3500630AV or similar drive does not seem to exist in their products line up.

As far as the 20PK is concerned, that's 20 pieces, 20 drives package that is.

Edit : Nevermind, I found the AV series in my Seagate data lists. That's NOT a consumers drive, it is a low-power rigid drive meant for digital surveilance operations!

Price on the last one would usually confirm that its a 20 pack since its about 20x as expensive as the first one

Grace is correct about the second drive too... its a specialized drive for an AV surveilance setting.

Just get the first drive and be done with it

this thread continues to come up in search results. yay for you? Bad for other people. It's time to dispel its inaccuracies!

Actually, one the one hand I'm glad he posted. Do a search on Google for ST3500630AV, and this thread comes up in top spot every time even though the thread is 1.5 years old. At least now it's plain as day, in bold, what the drive listing means.

However, on the other hand, it was answered by 2 other people before his 1.5+ years ago... just not as flashy.
