Dump youre DX 9 hardware while the dumpings good!!!!!!!......
For what it's worth I was e-mailing with a friend I have made at Maximum PC Mag.those guys have samples of nVidia's new DX10 cards and he told me there gonna be un-beatable!He says there gonna leave the 7950 in the dust.And thats 1 single card,not 2.And this guy is 1 of the edtitors.Not some mail runner.As for me,I have blown my $$$ for the next 6 months or so.....Oh well.

my computer broke. I had no choice. I think I bought a nice system though. I got a 7600GT just so I wouldnt spend much money but I'd get a good deal. Its a really nice card.

all this for vista? when a good 95% won't be upgradeing untill 6 mouths to a year +?
and you don't get DX10 in XP, so it pointless to worry at this point, as games will still be compatable with DX9, so a hand full of games is not a reason to buy $500 hardware.
and i'm a crazy upgrade'in freak....

yea I just dont see a reason. I got something cheap now cause I didn't have alot of cash and I wasn't sure what was on the horizon but I played it safe. I didn't just ignore my gaming needs. I bought something that would perform substantially better than my old card...just not to an extreme level.

its not that its DX10 compatible that i care about. It is a performance freak. Single cards are doing more than a 7950GX2. Seems pretty good to me.

11k points in 3dmark 06 on a single card(as per the inquirer)is much more than any card can attain today.
But people who have a decent card today such,shouldn't jump the gun just yet.The G80 will be extremely over-priced at initial launch.(come on $800 for a single card which has features which most of us wouldn't even use)
Wait a few months and maybe the price will drop to a relatively acceptable $649.
I'll get the die-shrink version when it comes out.(Ai's or nvidias depending on whose better)

One thing with DX10 cards - will the hardware also be able to run under a DX9 driver for XP - maybe not an issue to start with, as the first DX10 hardware prices are likely to be meteoric, but if they hit the mainstream and value segments... It seems inevitable that before XP is dead, there will probably be the same low, midrange and top end set of DX10 hardware as there is for DX9 now.
One thing seems to be the unified shaders - I guess a DX9 driver could dedicate some to pixel and some to vertex, or the driver could distribute them adaptively.

DX10 is supposedly quite different than the rest of them. With the addition of the unified shader, it is supposedly a performance hit in DX9 apps. |

Yeap glad im switching to console gaming pretty soon, Tired of upgrading components so i could upgrade another component just so the game will stop stuttering @ medium settings, Just cant afford it.

One quick question wonder why Xp will not support DX10 is it because it just cant or MS using it to make us all upgrade to vista. Very good marketing strategy if thats what is happening.
