I installed a Maxtor 160gig hard drive in the "old girl" in my sig below a year and a half ago (yup, out of warranty now) that I got for $40.00 dollars at a "Day After Thanksgiving" sale at Staples. That drive looks to be dying (as reported by the Maxtor PowerMax software). I think maybe it is just a few bad sectors cropping up, but...
So, I went and bought a WD2500JB drive to replace it - after imaging over the files from the Maxtor to the new WD drive, I'm gonna keep the Maxtor 160gig in as slave and see how she goes... Can you believe I'm gonna have almost half a terabyte of storage in this old machine???
Only $80.00, couldn't afford to do more than that now, and need a working desktop machine at home for the family...
