Graphic problem : text in games appears as grey squares

Here's a screenshot of Oblivion. You can see that the text is displayed incorrectly.

It was working last week. I don't know what I've changed since then that would cause this.

I have an AMD Athlon 3000+ and a GeForce FX5700 and an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard.

I installed Office beta 7 yesterday but I don't think it's related.

Since this never happened to me before, I don't know what could be the source of the problem. There must be someone, somewhere that saw this problem before.

Bellator is on a distinguished road

Does this only happen in oblivion or in other games/programs as well.. If it only happens in oblivion than it could be an issue with the game and you may need to wait for a patch. It could also be a driver issue. If you recently installed new drivers try rolling back to the last version that worked. If you haven't installed new drivers it could be a corrupted driver install, try reinstalling them. If this still doesn't help there are a couple of other possibilities: If you've bumped your case the card could have become slightly unseated (although I would think this is unlikely), you can check to make sure it is installed firmly. Also you may want to check your GPU temps, if they are fairly high it could be a heat issue. Have you overclocked your card at all?

Hope one of these helps.

I recently tried older drivers. I was using 84.21 prior to that.

I was using 78.01 at the time of the screenshot in the first post.

I reinstalled the version 84.21. Now I get this in Oblivion : Screenshot
The mouse is invisible and only this shows. There's something wrong with the card, the drivers or the motherboard.

I also tried another game called Grand Prix legends. That other game seems to work perfectly in OpenGL. In Direct3D, it's unplayable as all the menus are invisible.

EDIT : I'll install the card in another computer tomorrow. That will tell me if the problem is with the card or from my computer. My card is from MSI. I just took a look at their website. They offer a warranty of three years. If it's broken, I might be able to get it repaired or replaced. I would prefer replaced, especially if they give me a new model. It can happen.

The problem is not the card. It works normally in another computer. I think I'll format and do a fresh install. Uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them did not solve the problem.

EDIT : Reinstalling windows solved all my problems.
