??? X850xt Pe

The last few days ive noticed that my GPU temperature has gone up....
I have a X850XT PE, I have vacuumed my comp and turned up my fan speed
Im getting like 100 degress whilst playing COD2 at 1024*768 i think
2006-05-27 13:31:37 Temperature: GPU: 100.4°C GPU environment: 64.0°C
Is it normal to reach those temperature?????
got my fan speed about 35% and its quite noisy and im getting like 42 degress at idle
And few days ago THE VPU recovery came up which was werid.
I got a standard fan that comes with it and stuff and havent overclocked it
Is this normal or should i be worrying about it???
could i consider buying the Arctic Cooling AVC-AT5R2 ATI Silencer 5
My specs:
DELL XPS 3.2 GHZ P4 HT
1 GIG RAM
X850XT PE
would the ATI silencer 5 help ??
ANd is it easy to install since i dont know about comp hardware that well??
Thx if any1 relies...

Hi Wou, I looked into this recently mainly because of Ray Adams' Tray-Tool with its temp monitor in the task bar...! I bought & fitted the Zalman cooler, but wasn't that impressed -it wasn't any cooler than the factory-fit fan assembly, (tho' it was quite a bit quieter) anyway I took it off again. I think the Arctic one is the poodles privates.
100c is a bit too hot for my liking -think it might shorten the life of your card, even though the card websites say they can run at those temps. My X800XL peaks at around 70c & idles @ 45c. Go for the Arctic Cooler, just don't have fingers like a bunch of bananas -as some of the screws/washers are a bit small, & you'll prob need some surgical spirit to clean off the old thermal paste...
Last thing- try to have the closest pci slot empty as it helps a lot with airflow. Hope that helps
