Mouse Diagnostics?

I'm noticing that I often have to click my mouse button a second time in order to get WEB sites to respond. It may be that I'm clicking too soon....e.g. before page finishes loading. But, I also see some sluggishness in my games.

I've got a MS Optical Wheel Mouse that is almost brand new. I've hooked it up to both USB 2.0 as well as PS/2. Seems to make no difference.

So, is there a good independent diagnostic app that can give me some ideas of whether my mouse is responding properly or not?

Another thing is that I have a situation where, for some odd reason, the right click option gets activated even when I'm nowhere near the right click button.

AND, in Oblivion, and other games, I can get switched from FPV to 3rd person and never touch a key. ??

i could be wrong but it sounds like you have a short or the like in your mouse... i would try playing a flash game or something where it is easy to determine if your mouse clicks are being recorded... if you find that you have to jam the button especially hard to get a response, or if you find that in the course of the app mouse buttons are triggered you did not press (for example when moving the mouse around and maybe 'tripping' the sensor) then I would say you have a faulty mouse and to exchange it.
