SITE POLL: Geforce FX, would you buy one?
There have been alot of reviews, articles and information available so far on the Geforce FX, so ive opened a site poll to get peoples opinions on the card in one thread.
Do you feel its worth purchasing after reading the reviews? is it too loud? overpriced? does it perform well enough? or would you rather spend the money on a 9700 pro from ATI? Or are you waiting for the FX to come down in price before spending your hard earned cash?
Vote, then post your comments.

Personally, if NVidia can make that card A LOT quieter, by all means. I wouldn't mind taking up the extra PCI slot (I have 3 open. ) sooo....
But ya', ever since I got a raise I've been pretty frugal with cash - and I like NVidia's drivers, I think NVidia can bring the card to its potential.
If that other article was true about the sound of a heartbeat, damn man, that'd be a nice card. lol!
Anyways, I'm out. heh

No.
I would rather buy 9700 PRO for that money, because it is better and I prefer ATI.
But at the moment I will not buy either because I always buy expensive technology when it is already outdated, so I can get it at reasonable price

nVidia is dead
I would never buy such a card. It is so expensive and it is so loud. I'll go with ATI. It is a lot cheaper and performs almost the same. And it has superb picture quality and excellent support for DVD playback. The only bad thing about ATI currently is their lack of support for Linux. I hope they wake up and start doing something about this.

I have a 9700 pro and can only see it getting better with the new drivers coming out. The FX may be a little faster; but in no way better. So I'm not even thinking about changing. Nice try NVIDIA.

I did preorder one of these beasts the other day but have since cancelled it decided to stick with my trusty old 4600ti for a while longer, the test rig really did it for me too noisey and far to expensive.

Welp, I have never bought anything Nvidia before, and after reading the reviews for the FX, that stance is only reinforced. I'll stick with ATI.

Well i just got my Radeon 9500 pro, and i'm more than happy with it.
The last time i spent more than £250 on a card was when the GF2 came out, and i will never do it again.

Geforce FX
The FX doesnt really show anymore performance than the 9700 Pro.The ATI price is going to be dropping a little so it looks to be a good time to buy the ATI card.I have a GF4 4600 and it is more than I need, and I wouldnt want something that hot and noisy in my case anyway.I'm wondering why the FX doesn't have better performance than it shows at 500/500DDR.Choppy

I have to upgrade my CPU before I do anymore GPU upgrading. I'll eventually buy the FX when I learn more about water cooling - then I'm gonna have some fun!

I will be keeping my 9700 pro. I dont see where the minor performance gain from the FX in some areas and loses in other areas justifies buying this card. I dont see where now it is worth buying

Damn, my Ti4200 64mb scores the close to the R9700Pro at stock speeds. Why bother spending the 100-150$ more for 5% better speed?

I Like my Radeon AIW 9700 Pro, The success I had with my 8500DV is what made me decide, and it replaced my VD5 5500, thats when nvidia lost me

FX vs ATI
There is quite a battle brewing in Videocard market with the FX fixing to be the King for a short span.
Nvidia didn't release the Good drivers to the reviewers they knew they would be leaked to us and ATI would know what step to make next right now they don't know what the FX is capable of Drivers can make a 20% increase in benchmarks .Nvidia is trying to play us like a fiddle by releasing the 128 meg card first they know that some people will buy the 128 meg one that is interested in 256 they will wait two or three months and then release the 256 meg model and some that bought the 128 meg one will sell it and buy the 256 meg one and that is wrong.Nvidia rolled the dice and gambled on 0.13 micron core size on GPU and it set them back they also missed the mark by only making their videocards 128 bit where the ATI is 256 it hurt them on bandwidth the DDR II memory didn't make up for the difference
and it shows in benchmarks they have other aces up their sleeve and hopefully ATI can counter them with their new GPU speeds.I have always bought Nvidia because of faster cards and a lot better drivers ATI is getting a lot better i wish they would do better on open GL that is a shortcoming of theirs but if they get that fixed Nvidia could be playing secopnd fiddle and i will have a Radeon 9700 pro in my pc unless Nvidia shows me some better Benchmarks and some quiter fan speed they sound like a vacuum cleaner the WAF is way off and if you want to know what WAF stands for it is Wife Acceptance Factor.

nv is going to have to step up to the plate and produce quality visuals before I consider them again. I've 'funded' them for too long and received very little in return........

After months of waiting and years of using Nvidia's cards....
I gave up on the FX and replaced my Ti4400 with a 9700 Pro. The drivers are still a little flaky, but FAR superior to what I was expecting from ATI. This is truly an impressive card, and playing my favorite games with 16X Anso and 4x AA and still moving right along at 70-120FPS is just awesome. I see now what I was missing. I have been using Nvidia cards since the original GeForce 256 cards came out and still have alot of respect for Nvidia. Rarely do you get a card that you put in your computer, put in your drivers, put in your game and play....it just works. This was not so for a long time with ATI and thats why I stayed away, but after reading alot of what you guys were writing about these cards and ATI's improved support and driver development, I figured what the hell and bought one. ATI always did have excellent 2D quality anyway so at least my desktop will look better even if it won't play my games, and I haven't been disappointed yet. I can't honestly say the IQ is noticeably better than it was with my Ti4400 in the same games, but the frame rate is much higher and play seems smoother with no loss in frame rate from smoke, rocket trails etc.. like I had with the Ti4400 with AA enabled.
Good job ATI and keep the good things coming, you might just keep an experimenting Nvidia customer

I had a reckoning the poll might be quite negative for nvidia after reading the comments across this board and other boards on the net, but I have to say that after reading the posts and the figures, even im surprised.... I have a feeling Nvidia might not be selling too many of these cards.
