2 or 3 beeps indicates a memory error I believe. Is it two or three?
edit: Check this out ( http://support.intel.com/support/mot.../cs-010249.htm) it may help you out.

If it's memory error, there are some questions you need to answer:
1. Are you attempting either to overclock the memory or use agressive timings? Some systems have a few settings in the BIOS that can be set for things like Default, Turbo, Gaming, Racing, etc. Be sure your memory timings are at the Default or AUTO settings and try again.
2. Do you have more than one stick of memory? If so, and the above doesn't correct the problem, try running with only one stick of memory and then the other.
If neither of these corrects or identifies the problem, you should download MemTest86 and run a test of your memory. This will definitely identify whether the RAM memory is good or not.
Google will put you in touch with any number of download sites for MemTest86.
Good luck!

So is it one beep or two beeps? Do what DS said, try different memory fi you can. MemTest is the way to go for testing, but it does take a while, so don't expect instant results. I am almost sure it is a memory error.

you need to get your friend to test his system for stability.
have him run memtest86 for a minimum of 20 passes to test the RAM for stability. if the RAM passes then in windows run prime95 for a minimum of 12 hours to test the whole system for stability.
Also, he needs to monitor his temps of the system it could be overheating

Ok guys, sorry for taking so long, was out of town. It is acutally four beeps which is a timing error. It says to check for screws that arn't too tight for grounding issues. I wen't in (grouding my self to not ruin anything) and loosened the screws then tightend them to where it wasn't too tight. Still nothing, when I reboot my computer it says it is due to (thermal overheating) any suggestions?

unplug everything.... all power cables, pci cards, gfx card, RAM and cpu. then carefully reseat everything. apply a thin layer of as5 on the cpu and make sure you get the heatsink placed correctly. while you have everything out clear the CMOS for good measure.
