Wrong forum, and you cannot upgrade your CPU via software. You must be thinking of something else.

here are some additional information to the Intel Application Accelerator software...
Performance Software - Intel Application Accelerator supports the following Intel chipsets:
Intel 810 ,810E, 810E2, 810L, 815, 815E, 815EP, 815G, 815EG, 815P, 820, 820E, 840, 845,
845E, 845G, 845GE, 845GL, 845GV, 845PE, 850, 850E, and 860 Chipsets.
Note-- Mobile chipset support was removed from Intel Application Accelerator version 2.3
Version 2.2.2 is the last version available that supports mobile chipsets.
Intel Celeron D Processor 320 -- Chipset...
Intel 915GV Express, 915G Express, 915P Express, 910GL Express, 865PE, 865P, 865GV, 865G, 848P, 845PE, 845GV, 845GE, 845G, 845E, and E7221 Chipsets.
anyway, What you mean "processor has slowed" ?
Do you mean that you have found your CPU clock speed reading lower than spec clock speed?
or Do you mean you find your computer runs slower than you expected?
"i need a site 2 up my processor"
or, you want to overclock your CPU, may be?

before i did a restore on my pc, i was transferring at 8000kbs and more, but now i am under 3000, example, i put dvds on my pc using a program called dvd shrink, the transfer has slowed tremendously and 2 burn data, music, anything, it takes round an hour, when it was burning in under 20 min.

Are you sure the CPU is setup properly in the BIOS?

Sounds like his chipset drivers are not up to date. Intel's website has the Drivers you need. You will also want to check drivers for any other components you have in your machine.

my bios says intel r celeron tm processor 2.40 ghz. level cache 256 integrated. cpu says bus speed 533 mhz. clockspeed 2.40 phoenix rom bios plus version 1.10 a03. My chipset says intel r 865g chipset family. In my device manager/computer, i have acpi uniprocessor. W/ processor identification utility, says f41 fc pga 2. Also in device manager/ processors, driver update, 2 pick the driver, i have intel processor and just processor, but they both r the same as in my speed. Am i telling u enough bout my pc, well i'm not done, lol!!! My pc is a dell diminsion 3000revision A03. In my system properties it says intel R celeron R cpu 2.40 ghz 2.39 ghz 512 mb of ram. The only way i knew it had slowed was using my dvd shrink 2 copy dvd 2 pc, it was going @ 8000kbs and climbing, now it's way under 3000. I done a complete restore recently after i had increased my speed, but didn't save the site where i got the increase in speed. And 2 burn w/ my record now, the burn time has greatly increased.I have been 2 dell and intel so many times, w/ no solution, if u can help, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

are you basing the slowdown only on dvd shrink performance?
support for dvd shrink was withdrawn some time ago, so if you're trying to back-up newer dvd's with better copy protection I suppose there's always the chance that it's slowing up the rip/copy proccess.
personally I've had to stop using dvd shrink for most new films, it just doesn't cut it anymore

no i'm not, my record now burns, any burns, data, music, etc. have also slowed down, burns that were taking 7- 20 min 2 burn r now taking an hour or more.i use the shrink often, but i also have a decrypter that i have used 4 the newer dvds, it's on the dvd shrink site now. I haven't checked 2 c if download speed has changed yet, i download round 220kbs, i have dsl connection, i will check that now.

ok, seems to me that there is nothing to worry about the hardware spec, nor the chipset drivers, or anything like that.
so forget about your computer hardware spec for now.
you want to know how to increase transfer rate of copying the contents of the CDs/DVDs' ? correct me.
my question is: Did the web site tell you to change the Windows registry settings ?

Just a thought....when you repaired Windows with your restore disc you probably re-enabled the DMA settings for your Optical drives and/or re-installed workable generic drivers for the same said drives.
