Question reguarding video chipsets

I just ordered a new motherboard for a friend of mine a couple days ago. It has GeForce 6100 integrated graphics. Well, my friend has a PCI Radeon 9250, and was wondering how much of a performance difference would be seen between the two. Just for reference, my friend currently has a Celeron @ 2.6GHz and I'm giving him my old Athlon64 3000+ with the new mobo.

I'd have to double check (and I'll probably get corrected on this), but I remember an article where the Geforce 6100 was compared to the ATI Xpress 200 graphics, and the Geforce 6100 was faster in most cases, but not by much. I also remember an article that compared the ATI 9250 to the Geforce 5200. Can't remember the exact outcome, but I do know that in the same article they showed that the Geforce 6100 is slower than the Geforce 5200, so that would also make the ATI 9250 faster than the Geforce 6100. However, would the PCI version be faster? My guess is that it's probably 'bout the same, or slower do to the bandwidth limitations of the PCI bus.

The only benifit I can see in favor of the 9250 would that it has it's own memory, while the onboard would be using system memory to run. However, the only thing in favor of the onboard would be that you'd have a free PCI slot for something else.

Guess it all depends on what you can live with.
