Issues with AUX input

Hi there!

First of all, many thanks for this great driver!

I searched the forums, FAQs and knowledgebase about this issue, but found no sollution to my problem. So I decided to start a new thread about it:

Recently I purchased a TV card which is conneced to my sound cards AUX input via an internal cable. Until now, I used headphones to Teamspeak and Skype a bit and had no problems at all. I was lucky..
The problem is, every time I want to hear the output of my TV card, I have to change the settings of the kX drivers. In the AC97 tab, I have to change the AC97 input from microphone to AUX and in the input tab I have to enable AC97 input. I find this very annoying.
My question is now: Is it possible to route the AUX input so that I can hear the output of my TV card without changing the AC97 input setting?
With the situation as it is now, I have to choose between micro and AUX, but I don't want to choose...

I hope someone understands my problem and can help me to find a sollution.

Btw, I am using a Soundblaster Audigy card with kX version 5,10,00,3538 from July 14th, 2005.

Many thanks in advance!

Maddogg6 will become famous soon enough

Using ProFX SRC allows a bit more flexibility - but requires a custom DSP. (you can select WHICH ac97 inputs are mixed w/ levels instead of 1 input only or stereo mix)

Me, I just load settings for what ever activity Im gonna do. Because I use a custom DSP for everything. (not enough resources to get it ALL in there that I want.

For TV - I like using the Prologica plugin - I like the surround better than surrounder - but required a new DSP config.

For music - I add Multiband compression and Harmonic Generator along with prologica - custom DSP.

For ______ (insert fav. VOIP app here) I have it set up so I never hear my mic in my speakers to avoid feedbacks.

For DVD's I use FFDSHOW and do surround decoding in it - and staright rout P16V (wave HQ surround decoded signals) to Epilog outputs.

Another way is

OR create a batch file and use KXctrl commands to change the AC97 register - and add starting the TV program AFTER the KXctrl commands. Do the same for games to switch back. maybe even a GAME menu too??

See this thread.
Using kxctrl to swap front and rear output

Yet another way would be to use a NON ac97 input for the TV - but requires A/D convertor if you dont have the live drive.

Yes, different settings could be a sollution.

As I understand it, there is no other way than installing some sort of DSP plugin to mix input sources? Today I wanted to watch TV while Skyping... not possible?

Sorry, but I had no luck with this link - I still have to select what source I want to hear in the AC97 settings page...
I am a complete newbie to DSP settings and just don't get it - why do I have to set the source in the AC97 page? why can't I hear both outputs at once?

For the record, I tried to remove the prolog input and added ProFXs src inputs instead, but I still can hear only one source. I have two src inputs and if I change the source of one (to AUX for example) it sets AUX for both sources...

Try adding an MX6 mixer between the SRC and kxlt. You can use it to adjust the outputs of each of the inputs individually. make sure you understand the check boxes at the top of the mixer (one mutes, one arms for recording,.....) In any case, if you have a signal FROM a SRC into the MX6, you should see the level meters responding. THen it i sjust a matter of figuring out where to route your outputs from the MX6.

Of course you have to select which AC97 source you want to hear.
There is only 1 AC97 device on the card, wich has only 1 stereo ADC..!

All those different Analog inputs, Mic, line, aux, CD, do NOT each have an ADC for itself.
Instead, these Analog signals are connected to an Analog Mixer build into the AC97 device.
So if you want to get more then 1 Analog source into the DSP, you simply select "STEREO MIX" as the AC97 source input.

Things can get quite confusing because SBLive cards use different hardware routings then audigy.
Also, Audigy cards *DO HAVE* more then 1 analog ADC, so in your case you actualy
can utilize 2 seperate Analog stereo inputs.

HTH,
