There are more than 6 ASIO inputs on the Creative cards other than the X-Fi and on the X-Fi. Ah I understand now. I figured that maybe ASIO4ALL could only support 2 inputs no matter what. So, kX doesn't support X-Fi, ASIO4ALL won't work, and as far as I know there are no Creative ASIO drivers for the ExpressCard X-Fi Notebook. So, are there any drivers that I could use in my situation? If I can't get redocneXk to function it looks like my only solution would be to get Creative's $100 surround analog to DTS converter :\.

Hi,

This seems like a really cool idea/app, thanks for taking the time to devolop it Trill.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work very well with my X-Fi XtremeMusic (Windows XP x64 & 2.14.0001 X-Fi driver)

When I try redocneXk 1.09, audio seems to be slowed to approximately 1/4 speed and the sound distorts and clicks as videos (only tested an AVI with an mp3 soundtrack so far) and mp3's play in slow motion

Despite reading the two threads here at DH.net (GUI and CMD line) and trying various options and latency settings, I do not seem to be able to improve my playback. (the GUI version does not work at all for me)

The recording device has been changed to "What U Hear" and volume slider turned down in the Volume Control

In the Creative Audio Console the mode is set to Entertainment atm.
I've tried with and without the "bit-matched recording" ticked
In the decoder tab, it is set to "Dolby Digital/DTS Bitstream Out"
And finally under SPDIF I/O, the Digital Output Sampling Rate is set to 48 KHz

I'm currently trying:
redocnexk.exe -d 0 -m 3 -r 1 -o 0 -p 5 -l 1 -b 640000

I have no idea what to suggest. You may be out of luck because it may be a bug in redocneXk.

While it is supposed to support the X-Fi, I don't have one myself so it never was fuly tested with those cards. Some people got it working with the X-Fi but since there are a few models of the cards and a few different driver versions, maybe some of them work differently from others.

i am asking this question because i want to know if i can also convert wma surround and mp3 surround to ac3 with this software. also wld this mean all the 6 channels of the game (after eax effects) will converted?

Hi everyone !
First of all thank you very much Trill for your software !
I've test redocnexk 1.09 and redonexk 2.05 too and i noticed sound losses in many games so I try with Rightmark 3Dsound 2.3 and ... everything is ok till hardware acceleration is disabled, EAX effect works too, if I select in system menu Direct3dsound Hardware then come problems . . . I think that my ASIO driver ( ASIO SB Audigy2 (a000)) don't support hardware acceleration.
That will explain why pin 2 mixleft channel and 3 mixright channel are perfect !
EAX effect are applied only in multichannel sound and hardware acceleration usually too ..
Does Asio driver works with hardware acceleration or not ?
Is that correct or not ?
Is there a workaround to resolve ?

Something to note:
Technically this is the kX Forum. This means that most of the people here use kX, and thus only have sound cards supported by kX, and operating systems supported by kX. This program was originally made for kX users, thus why this thread is here, but if it works for you with other drivers/sound cards/operating systems, well then good, but it is not easy for us to answer questions about other drivers/sound cards/operating systems, etc when it is not working right, so unless you help each other, some such questions may go unanswered.

It is configurable to do whatever channels you want, or you can choose one of the preset modes which offers some commonly used mappings.

Refer to the following post for some info on how the CL driver maps its ASIO channels. That is the only info I have (and it may be different for different card models (i.e. X-FI vs AUDIGY, etc)), but I would guess that the documentation that came with your card has such info (my card did not support ASIO with the CL driver, so I have no such documentation).

The main requirement is that the sound card must have a native ASIO driver (at 48 kHz), and be able to output directly to SPDIF (at 48 kHz? (see post #235+)).

Please help. Can't output 5.1 sound in games.

My setup is motherboard Asus P5K, Core2 Duo 2.33, i turned off the integrated sound on the motherboard. I have 2 sound cards - SB Live 5.1 SB 0060 and Audigy SE(cause it outputs 44.1KHz on spdif). I installed KX drivers(drv3539-full.exe). It doesn't see Audigy at all, it do see the SB Live. But. It doesn't work in games at all.

I installed plugin generator3 and route it's signal to ASIO 0 but the output is total silence. The generator works, i checked it with connecting its output to input of Timbre block, nad i do hear the sound on correct frequency(as far as i can tell). But if i run redocneXk_2.5.exe i hear silence.

I tried to change different ASIO parameters - Latency, Format, Sync - to no avail. Tried to play with every parameter in redocneXk_2.5.exe, also, no sound.

I'm banging my head on the wall, would really appreciate some help with my setup.

Maybe someone knows how to setup this driver to ensure direct transfer of dts or ac3 to spdif?

Before i wanted to play with 5.1, i installed AC3Filter and watched movies fine, it did output DTS or AC3 signal directly to spdif. But after i installed kx-dirver everything stopped working. And i did try to remove and then install and remove again AC3Filter, but it doesn't help.

Somebody can help me with it? Would be great, thanks in advance

kX does not support the Audigy SE, and AC3-Passthru does not work in kX with 10k1 models (i.e. Live! / Live! 5.1).

P.S. it's desirable that they would be suitable for smooth establishing of dts or dolby d transmition without additional spdif modification . It's good for films only.

That statement is kind of misleading... 5.1 should work OK with games with the Live! 5.1 when using the analog speakers connections, or a 5.1 digital speaker system. The issue here is that you want to encode the 6 channels to AC3 for use with an external receiver/decoder, which is not going to work with kX with the Live! 5.1 (nor with Creative driver), and redocneXk .

The standard drivers did not offer an ASIO driver for the Live! 5.1, so although AC3-Passthru will work, you will not be able to use redocneXk with them.

The only list I can give you is any (internal) 10k2 model (audigy/audigy2) that is compatible with kX (see the kX compatibility list (use the link in this thread until the main sight is back up)). There are other card models that will work, but I have no information about such cards, so I cannot offer any such list. Also, there are some cards that offer native AC3 encoding (Dolby Digital Live), which IMO would probably be a better option for you, if you do not care about things like the DSP, etc.

No. Nobody ever asked for that feature (at least I don't recall that) so it's not there.

I decided to stop working on redoneXk because I lack the time and my interest waned over time. So I don't really have time to add new features. However, if it does not take too long or it's not too hard to add, maybe I would add this for you.

Can you explain how you are using it, why you would like to stop it externally and maybe how you thought you would stop it externally. If I get a better idea of how you're using it, maybe I could design a way to stop it that would suit you.

Just a quick note for anyone having problems with this. There is a hardware solution, from Creative Creative Home Theater Connect DTS-610 - DTS Interactive Encoder

I got myself one a few weeks ago, and it works great.
It's compatible with any soundcard on any operating system - it simply takes 5.1 analogue inputs, and converts them to a DTS 5.1 Optical/Coax output in realtime.

My receiver has no 5.1 analogue inputs - so before the DTS-610, there was no way for me to get 5.1 audio into it from my PC. But it's all working fine now

I do not know if that model is going to work for you... It is supported by kX, but only partially (as indicated on the list). IIRC, WaveHQ is not supported on that card since it uses a slightly different chip (p17v instead of p16v IIRC), and I think this is what is used for AC3 passthru, so AC3 passthru may not work with that model and kX (but I am not completely sure about this, and there have been a few new kX versions since I last heard about it, so I am not sure if anything has changed (but I do not think so)).

I think that card should work with redocneXk using the Creative driver, but I cannot say for sure.

Again, for your purposes I think a card with DDL (the Turtle Beach Montego DDL for example) would probably be a better option, since you would not need a program like redocneXk to do what you want. If you really want to use redocneXk to do it, with a kX compatible card, then you should really get a model listed under the 10k2 section of the compatibility list (one that is NOT listed as partially supported, since we may not know all of the issues that might exist with such cards).

Audigy 4 doesn't work at all, the situation with films is the same as with games, just wasting of money

SB Live 5.1 appeared to be much more functional and working, despite the older chip 10 k1.

Audigy , which is in the conformity list with kx, I couldn't find on sale.
As regards support sound card DDL, there is no such on sale too , but I could order this one with one guy from USA. But I have one question.
While repairing, I just put the wires form computer to TV and receiver, and to the receiver I put the
coaxial wire. I mean that I need the card with DDL support and digita lcoaxial exit . What could you advise? Many thanks once again.

I do not know much about it, but it looks pretty good, and it should do what you want. BTW: I do not know much about the Turtle Beach Montego DDL either, I only mentioned it as an example, and because it seems not too expensive (Really, I am not on expert on sound cards, such questions may be better suited in a forum about sound cards in general, (or a site that reviews them), etc (and of course, other than what you mentioned, I have no idea what other sound card features are important to you)).

The A4 will probably work with the CL driver and redocneXk, as I stated previously, but, again I think a DDL card would probably be a better option (if you are going to buy something anyway), unless you need EAX 4 or something that is only available on Creative cards, etc.

I released version 1.10

I changed the code a bit to allow to use a VBScript to start and stop it and I included a sample script. It's untested as I don't have a supported soundcard and a supported windows version right now. If I did not make any mistake when changing the code, it should work and do what you want it to do.

The SB0350 should work with redocneXk and kX. Which driver to use depends on want you want (you need to figure that out yourself). i.e. If you want EAX support than you would need to use the Creative driver, if you want kX's routing abilities, etc then use kX.

BTW: CL means Creative Labs

I want to get only sound 5.1 in games and sound 5.1 in films, through spdif on receiver. If i understand you correctly,should i use creative drivers and run with them redocnexk and so everything will work?

my card audigy 2 started to work , without any additional settings. Could you kindly advise the optimal settings in redocneXk. it seems to laod the processor rather good , the game Crysis, wich is on maximum, began to stop with it , but it never happened before

Btw. I wrote my own stopping script. It works for 1.10 and previous versions. Tested on Vista.

My setup is motherboard Asus P5K, Core2 Duo 2.33, i turned off the integrated sound on the motherboard. I have 2 sound cards - SB Live 5.1 SB 0060 and Audigy SE(cause it outputs 44.1KHz on spdif). I installed KX drivers(drv3539-full.exe). It doesn't see Audigy at all, it do see the SB Live. But. It doesn't work in games at all. I installed plugin generator3 and route it's signal to ASIO 0 but the output is total silence. The generator works, i checked it with connecting its output to input of Timbre block, nad i do hear the sound on correct frequency(as far as i can tell). But if i run redocneXk_2.5.exe i hear silence. I tried to change different ASIO parameters - Latency, Format, Sync - to no avail. Tried to play with every parameter in redocneXk_2.5.exe, also, no sound. I'm banging my head on the wall, would really appreciate some help with my setup. Maybe someone knows how to setup this driver to ensure direct transfer of dts or ac3 to spdif? Before i wanted to play with 5.1, i installed AC3Filter and watched movies fine, it did output DTS or AC3 signal directly to spdif. But after i installed kx-dirver everything stopped working. And i did try to remove and then install and remove again AC3Filter, but it doesn't help. Somebody can help me with it? Would be great, thanks in advance

I will be looking for something suitable among second hand stuff P.S. it's desirable that they would be suitable for smooth establishing of dts or dolby d transmition without additional spdif modification . It's good for films only.

I decided to stop working on redoneXk because I lack the time and my interest waned over time. So I don't really have time to add new features. However, if it does not take too long or it's not too hard to add, maybe I would add this for you. Can you explain how you are using it, why you would like to stop it externally and maybe how you thought you would stop it externally. If I get a better idea of how you're using it, maybe I could design a way to stop it that would suit you.

Audigy , which is in the conformity list with kx, I couldn't find on sale. As regards support sound card DDL, there is no such on sale too , but I could order this one with one guy from USA. But I have one question. While repairing, I just put the wires form computer to TV and receiver, and to the receiver I put the coaxial wire. I mean that I need the card with DDL support and digita lcoaxial exit . What could you advise? Many thanks once again.

It's very exhausting to use search option ,especially with my poor English. Could you advise with which drivers is it better to use it - kx or creative? Let me remind you once again that I need games in 5.1 and films. Many thanks in advance. p.s. Also could you kindly inform what is CL dirver?

Tril S-3D enthusiast Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Canada Posts: 1,561 Rep Power: 39 System Specs	I released version 1.10 I changed the code a bit to allow to use a VBScript to start and stop it and I included a sample script. It's untested as I don't have a supported soundcard and a supported windows version right now. If I did not make any mistake when changing the code, it should work and do what you want it to do. Could you kindly advise the optimal settings in redocneXk. it seems to laod the processor rather good , the game Crysis, wich is on maximum, began to stop with it , but it never happened before
