the dll was in the same folder.. the exe starts and shows everything.. but the window is closed before i can read something.. (this was the full command line.. don't need to change something)..
with kistal and set passthrough, 5.1 in windows and audio contoll.. and digital output only.. it works.. but the are soundproblems with CMSS and CMSS 2.. only StereoSurround is working... the onlything I miss is the LFE-Signal.. is there option to activate LFE??.. btw -f is missing??.. i will now try play some games... .. |

CMSS does upmixing, and it probably only upmixes to the speaker outputs (i.e. not to ASIO). You should be able to test that in Krystal (i.e. see which ASIO pins are used with those settings).

Thanks for the fast work Tril, it works correctly for me
(I prefer _2).Now, we only have to find out how to generate the channels to get vertical positioning to get the best gamin solution with AC3 encoding, great! |

I’m having a problem using redocneXk because I also have to have Creatives ASIO installed so I can use the program Steinberg Cubasis VST that came with my Audigy I soundcard, and I also have the kx drivers installed. When I run the redocneXk program it shows that "Driver = 0 <Creative ASIO>. I’ve read in an earlier post that you can unregister the "ctasio.dll" in System32, and this works to get redocneXk to use the kX ASIO drivers. I did this and all works as it should until I re-start my computer and the Creative ASIO driver is automatically re-registered. In the Readme.txt file it speaks of "four switches supported" one of those is:
"-d : driver number. (Default = 0) That's the number assigned to the ASIO driver. Use this switch without any parameters to see the available drivers." Would I be able to use that switch to select my kX ASIO drivers by default? If so, how does a person go about setting those switchs? I’ve tried opening a Command Prompt window and have been able to see that under Settings "Driver #0 – Creative ASIO" and "Driver #1 – kX ASIO SB0090 10k2 [a000]". But when I try to reassign Driver #0 to be the kX driver I have no luck, below is the exact line I type in: "D:\SONY PCM-M1 Professional Portable DAT Machine\kX project (audio drivers for Audigy)\redoconeXk, 5.1 output over SPDIF\redoconeXk_v1.04\redoconeXk_v1.04\redoconeXk .exe" –d (default = 1) When I press Enter it just lists all the settings for the Creative ASIO driver. |

Thanks Tril, I should have known it wasn't as simple as I thought (or was that hoped?).
Of the two test versions I prefer _2 as well - as Tessier says, once the vertical positioning/3d top is in there it will be the best AC3 encoded gaming solution out there. |

@bobcat56458,
Make a shortcut to the redocneXk executable, and change the target line to: "D:\SONY PCM-M1 Professional Portable DAT Machine\kX project (audio drivers for Audigy)\redoconeXk, 5.1 output over SPDIF\redoconeXk_v1.04\redoconeXk_v1.04\redoconeXk .exe" –d 1 |

Thanks for the tip Russ, after I moved the program to shorten the path to it, the shortcut did the trick! I’ve been using 6 analog cables from the Audigy to an amp that has 5.1 analog inputs, but it sure is nice to be able to accomplish the same thing with 1 digital cable. I’m looking forward to the GUI, thank you Tril for developing this program!

There is an utility called ASIOcaps you can set ASIO latency. It just calls the ASIO panel(s) you have there. Sorry, but I don't have the link --> you'll find it with google quite easy (current version is something like 0.09 --> works perfectly) jiitee |

Some Creative cards can record digital signal as "Bit Accurate" --> would it be possible to get output too to "Bit Accurate" through this 'utility' --> no ac3, just plain stereo signal? Or is there HW restrictions for that?

When you say utility, do you mean redocneXk?

No, you can't.
1 - You don't need an AC3 encoder if you don't want to encode to AC3. 2 - It takes its source in the DSP. Everything is resampled before going into the DSP. So redocneXk can only output resampled audio. |

you can avoid resampling from spdif inputs using the b2b plugin, but that has no effect from fxbus sources iirc, and inputs from the analogue connections are already in sync (no resampling)

Why I asked this 'feature' is associated with this article that 'proves' that the b2b feature is possible to implement (least fairly with kX drivers, but preferably, I'm after a solution that would work with Creative ASIO drivers 'too'). jiitee |

hey there.. i testet some configurations with asio caps.. . but thes program is nearly the same as kistals configuration.. so there is this "delay".. i chosed the SB AUDIGY 2 ASIO instead of CREATIVE ASIO .. so there isn't a delay in the most aplications.. but games aren't playable.. (e.g. F.E.A.R.)..
does anybody can halp?.. |

After reading some reply's here I was wondering, would it be possible to have a top speaker for games?

AC3 is limited to 6 speakers (5.1), if I'm not mistaken.

I wasn't talking about ac3 in particular, just the option of a top speaker in general.

Top speaker is that even possible? I mean what would get sent to it? You would need a special type of decoder that's for sure. I think I read something about different configs..such as adding more speakers and possibly putting one over your head. Is this where you got the idea the internet?

top speaker is possible, just no "standard" has been created for it, or if one has, it hasn't been scaled out
iirc for full scale direction sound the speaker set-up label was 13.1 or something similiar

bobo1on1, you need to provide more info on what you want. Are there any games that output top speakers sound?

I read here that when using creative drivers some extra mixing was needed to here sounds that are positioned at the top, so pherhaps these sounds can be send to an additional speaker.

Dear Tril,
First of all, thank you so mutch for this application. It realy is very unique and works perfectly with KX Audio 3538-J. It does not work (in my case) with KX Audio 3534-F. I Use KX Audio 3534-F cause of the Great low latency in this release --> ASIO Performance. It does not work on SPDIF with my AMP (NAD T770) It does however show the SPDIF Passtrue Icon. It does work when i start your app. I can only set this KX Audio 3534-F Mixer on SPDIF 01 - 03 Spdif 0 is not there in this version. However i do not know if i DO need spdif 0 ? The wierd thing is in KX 3538 i set spdif passtrue to 48000 @ SPDIF 0. And on my AMP i see Decoding 3/2 etc. So that works. and with your app it works for e.g. mp3 files aswell. How ever i tested all spdif versions of this app. the one for spdif 1 0 and 2. I tested version 0 on mixer KX Audio 3534-F set to output on spdif 1 true 3 I tested version 1 of your app (Spdif 1) on KX Audio 3534-F mixer output 1 true 3 And did the same with spdif 2 test version of your app. Tested with Decode In on and also tested it with off. KX Audio 3538 No issues, works perfect. However KX Audio 3534-F would like to keep using this cause of the great KxAsio.dll This version does show SPDIF icon _Passtrue_ _BUT_ on my NAD Reciever there is no single. So no sound processing. Please not. These AMP's can not process above 48000 Freq. i can not e.g. set it to 96000. You would think it has to do with SPDIF 0 ? yeah i thought so aswell, but if i select the first SPDIF 01 in KX Audio 3534-F i DO here sound crackles. So there is a short white noise sound comming out of my AMP. However the time is to short to see if the AMP displays Decoding 3/2 DD. It does not do asnything after the White/Pink Noise short sound. What i would like to no realy is HOW come KX Audio 3538 asio version works and KX Audio 3534-F not. Does this realy mean that i can not use the Kxasio.dll of KX Audio 3534-F with your app? Or maybe if i could figuare out in the registry of windows to set KX Audio 3534-F to output to SPDIF 0 ?. However i do not think this is the problem casue i do here a little pink/ white noise on SPDIF 1. If it was inactive i shouldnt here any sound correct? Still, there must be a way to make KX Audio 3534-F SPDIF out on SPDIF 0 or 1 or even 2 have send the correct singles to my NAD Amp/Reciever T770. Then when using your app it can expand this potensial even more for other audio files to output to ac3 stream. I hope realy someone could help me. Cause i thought maybe this app could be the golden thing. Do not get me wrong this is the best app for its purpuse!!! Realy great programming. However _Only_ for KX Audio 3538. I want to figure out how i could send the same digital singles to my amp in KX Audio 3538 with your app OR without it that i could make active in my preferd KX Audio 3534-F version. Maybe it is just a KxCtrl.exe (Code) trick? i have no idea. If someone could help me with this and i could use this AC3 software aswell i would realy i mean realy be thankful!! Thx |
