Why isn't anyone using 192khz upsampling with audigy2?

I've read about 10 hours worth of threads everywhere on upsampling in foobar and winamp. I have not yet seen anyone using 192khz out of the 24/192 chip that the audigy 2 and 4 has.

Does anyone know how to set it up? Using the udial.wav, I've found that using factory drivers, 48khz sounds best. (which must mean that I'm not using the right chip.)

The only solution I can think of is to use the Kxproject drivers, but I'vre read those docs also, and it doesn't specify how to get it to route from foobar or winamp to the correct device (the HQ device) to get the sound out.

Any help please?

I don't know but according to specs 192khz is only supported in stereo mode, wich is why it might be considered unnecessary compared to 96khz working with multichannel modes. I've also seen claims that Microsofts DirectSound system does not yet support 192khz either.

upsampling works in the video domain. Should work in the audio domain also. (although much harder to perceive I imagine.) I really want to hear for myself whether it makes a difference or not. I didnt' think vacuum tubes sounded better than solid state till I actually tested it

Yes, maybe - but if you upsample a low sample rate signal into a high sample rate signal, the signal canīt get better physically, since up/downsampling degrades signal quality in every case - so what?
