I read in another thread how it might be possible to map any slider to the kX1 or kX0 faders inside the microsoft sndvol32 using kxctrl.exe -ma

Does anyone know how to use this argument to map lets say, the AC97 Mic In to the kX1/MicIn slider in sndvol32? I'm not very familiar with microcode.

The kxctrl dialog says:

-ma <0|1> <id> <reg>

so im thinking you would use it like:
kxctrl.exe -ma 1 _?_ _?_

please help...
