remote control: anything other than Winamp?
Can the remote control anything other than Winamp?
Specifially, I want to be able to control Windows Media Player while watching videos.
Is this possible? If so, how would I do it?

actually, no one seems to care much about IR remote. at least not within the kX community. it's a shame though. It could be nice to control the DSP in a live situation...

Sure, but IR functionality is not very reliable on the stage where 1000 lights are fading on and off - the better way is to control everything in the DSP via MIDI automation and this feature works perfectly and very reliable.

Yes yes, my answer was for BiCho, but... I have an Extigy standing around and a piece of software that allows me to control each supported player (WMP too) with the remote, works fine. But this is original software that only works with the Extigy , have you searched around in the net for free remote controller software or similar?

Download Girder or UICE. Those apps will let your remote control anything (and I do mean anything) inside windows. You can program them to be used as a mouse, to control any application (including media player, acdsee, powerdvd and others) or even to move faders in Cubase...
