??? Newbie with runaway CPU

Help!! After installing KX drivers, cpu usage idles at 65% , after uninstalling, it goes back to normal 2%. Audio sounds fine, mixer seems to work (as far as i can tell).
I have an Athlon 1Gig processor
384 MB of RAM
SB Live Player soundcard
Windows XP Pro 2002 (service pack 2)
I've muted all the unused channels in the mixer, is there other stuff i should turn off?

Any sugestions welcome, please type slowly as i'm not very technical!

Think you have some rests of creative stuff on your HD that interferes with kX. Try to uninstall creative completely, then install latest stable kX ver. 3537 and see. Use for uninstalling the DriverCleaner app from the DriverHeaven main forum.

Take a look at what is running and who is using the CPU, TravelRec is right but it often helps to know.

Mangler is not so bad in XP. Go to the "Run" off the start button and launch taskmgr that is type in taskmgr and enter. It is not as good as Igor Arsenin's TaskInfo but it gives an idea.

Mouse a column and it will sort by that column so you can see in CPU order.

again there is a lot of stuff that it does not show but it can point you to what is running and what part of Creative is still there and eating your CPU.
