Simultaneous digital and analog output

I couldn't seem to come up with the proper keywords to search this (or maybe its just not possible) but what I'd like to do is use both analog speakers as well as a digital connection to my 5.1 receiver in the other room at the same time. I have a set of stereo speakers hooked up currently and all works well there. I have a Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 home theater in the other room which I would like to hook up to this computer to watch movies and listen to music in that room.

Is it possible to keep the left/right stereo analog output on, as well as output a digital signal (sometimes 5.1, most of the time just stereo) to my home theater at the same time?

This is on an SBLive 5.1 by the way, thanks for any suggestions.

*Edit* Currently using kx version 3537, haven't tried the newer ones but I can if I need to

System Specs

find an RCA plug, solder some wires to it (preferably wires from an old computer case with the black socket still attached to the other end)
and connect the center pin of the RCA socket to Pin 13 of the AUD_EXT Header and the ring pin of the RCA connector to Pin 14 of the AUD_EXT Header

Well I should've noticed this sooner but AC3 passthrough only works on Audigy cards (BLAST!) or maybe the newer driver versions somehow have it working?

Hi!

For stereo or mono signals:
It is possible to use analog and digital outputs @ the same time - they are independent connected by hardware. If you install ProFX in the DSP (so 10k1lt or 10k2, card dependent) you can easily switch between them. But it all depends also on your card model and -capabilities, tell us more about your system specification. I donīt know if 5.1 digital stream is possible at the same time, but maybe some other users know...

Greetings!
