Audigy 2 ZS and 7.1 Sound
Hi,
I've just installed the newest KX-driver which is really great.
I'm using a Audigy 2 ZS with a 7.1 Surround Sytem.
If I play sounds via the interface kX Wave .... 0/1 I don't hear anything from the two speakers at the side (I only can hear sound from my speakers which would also be a part of a 5.1 system)
In the surrounder I'm using the following config:
Speaker Mode 7.1
Surround On
VCenterA: 1.00
VRearA: 1.00
VRearW: 0.66
VRearD: 10.0ms
Use Subwoofer Output
Bass Redirection
Split Freq: 121Hz
Is there anything wrong with my configuration or what can I do to hear sound from every speaker?
Thank's in advance for replies.
br,
Neptunus

Hi,
I'm using 3538.
In my control panel the option 5.1 Surround Sytsem is choosen (the option 7.1 is not avaiable in my windows 2000 installation).
The 2 speakers at the side are working fine with the original Creative drivers and the option 5.1 Surround Sytem in the control panel.

Hello. First sorry for my english... I'm german. I noticed this problem, too, and I'm sure it's a bug. I'm using XP with 3538g drivers and I've selectet 7.1 at the xp sound options, but I only get 5.1 surround when I'm listening music. The surrounder is configured hows neptunus. When i connect the I2S to the Rear of the Surrounder I will get music on every speaker, also there isn't a problem with my audigy 2 zs soundcard. And: The windows sound options has nothing to do with the surrounder! coz the source for the surrounder is stereo... only multichannel source (games, dvd, ...) are affectet by the windows sound options...
EDIT: in windows 2000 you can't choose 7.1 and there isn't an update/service pack. maybe in SP5

try using the prologica plugin, it's only 5 channel (need to use the surrounder for bass re-direction, but perhaps using a stereo mix plugin you can mix the front left and rear left in to center left, and same for the right hand side
