??? Feedback problem

Hello,

i got the following problem with kX:

I'm currently using a Sound Blaster Live!.The setting is the following:

- Line Out 1 (Front) is connected to a active monitor speakers
- Line Out 2 (Rear) is connected to headphones
- Line In is connect to mixer with mic amplifier, which is connect to a akg mic

- Speaker Mode: 4.1, copy, so I can turn on/off speakers/headphones

For recording I turn off the front line out, which means the speakers are off. I power headphones and turn on the mic amplifier.
In AC97 tab I only active LineIn and set to a proper value. I leave all other sliders in In/out and recording tab to inf, _but_ the mic, consequently the LineIn will be output to LineOut 1, even if the output is set to mute and inf....consequently I get feedback...

Now, where is the problem? I tried several hours, but the LineIn will always put to the monitor speakers, even if they are set to mute in kX Mixer.

Thanks for your help,
Shuk

Edit:

I just tried to fix the problem via the dsp window. Even if I disable all components, the LineIn will still be put to LineOut 1....

Even if I set master output value to inf, line in will be put to lineout1....

In the AC97 page of the mixer, select line in. Then make sure that the slider for line-in is muted.

In the DSP, connect a SRC plugin (or prolog 1 & 2) directly to WinMM recording or ASIO or whatever you're using to record.

Thanks for your help. I'm currently trying to set up CoolEdit, and afterwards I'll do Cubase SX.
I found the Src Plugin in ProFX, but i can't find WinMM. I think I need WinMM for CoolEdit?
In recording tab, should I set recording level for AC97 to a proper value?

I tried to connect Src to epilog out0 and out1, but I can't hear a feedback, which should actually appear...?

WinMM is "windows multimedia recording" and yes, you need it for Cooledit. On the Epilog plugin, it's labeled RecL and RecR and is the last two pins before the ASIO pins start.

Make sure you try out ProFX's K1lt plugin. It can be much more convenient than the epilog plugin, plus it uses fewer resources.

It works! Thank you very much. I'll try to set up Cubase SX tomorrow and try out the ProFX's K1lt plugin....
