Use both Aux and Line In at same time?
Is it possible to use both the Line In source and CD/Aux port in the computer at the same time? Thanks!

using the StereoMix setting in AC97 works, but it would be nice if i could individually control them (use multiple Src insatnces in the DSP) Any advice?
EDIT: So you know what I am trying to do; I want to be able to have two sources, a pre-amplified drum (Line In) or other audio source, and a guitar (Aux) with different dsp effects applied to each. This would be why the use of Stereo Mix is unacceptable. I can control the levels with Stereo Mix however this does no good because I also need to control effects seperately. Thanks again!

For eveyone else so they dont have to search:
Quick Guide - get extra inputs on your card. I did the commands but am not sure what they changed. I entered these: in the command window type: "kxctrl sac97 2 0" and press enter, then "kxctrl shw 19 1" and press enter Do I need to restart or need to re-run them after a restart? Thanks!

hy chester01, have a look at SPDIF Status. kx-mixer, then properties and then SPDIF/I2S or something. then you should have in line I2S some frequencyinfo, this means it is switched to the I2S A/D.

So basically do i turn my SPDIF input (normally digital) into an analog input?
This is what my SPDIF Info says: SPDIF Inputs: [R-Rate Locked; S-Stream Locked; V-Valid Audio] spdif A: unused spdif B: unused spdif C: unused or same as B I2S Inputs: (0): 0Hz (!) (1): 48000Hz [R] (2): 0Hz (!) SPDIF Outputs: (0): 2109204 (1): 2109204 (2): 2109204 (24 bits / 48000 Hz)

It isnt working, I have tried plugging into every input on the card and have had no sucess. I do not have a live drive, a second card, OR it running through my motherboard. I am just trying to seperate the analog inputs on the actual card.

Tonight, hopefully, I will post a link to my pathetic excuse for a Webpage showing my version of dj_stick's concept of adding a second input to an Audigy card.

Read that thoroughly--your answer is probably in there someplace. It sounds like you are using a custom DSP setup--if you are, there are special steps you have to take in order to configure the mixer correctly! If you don't get *ALL* of the sliders moved to their right positions, nothing will work the way it should. To gain access to the sliders, you will have to save your custom DSP setup to a new file, then re-initialize the DSP to the default settings (the one that looks like spaghetti) and then fiddle with mixer slider settings, then re-load your custom DSP setup. Good luck to you! By the way, IT'S WORTH IT!

Nappylady, as you said in your linked post: "...For the amount of effort that's gone into figuring this all out, this information should *definitely* go in the knowledgebase."
But actually I can't find it. Am I wrong or I'm missing something? I think many people are really interested in it and it never has been explained clearly. |

AFAICT, my explanation in the linked thread is the only place that such a comprehensive explanation is given... I don't think it's in the KB yet... which is why I keep that HTML file on my hard drive for future reference!

i don't think i will add such an explanation to the KB, as kX now has a software switch for it in 3538
the kxctrl commands are almost redundant now
