AMD64/Cool&Quiet + KX stutter

About a month ago I got an AMD64 3200 and I've enabled the Cool n Quiet option. Problem is that when it's enabled I have problems with Cubase SX2, Reason etc. More specifically, when I'm opening a project (even the smallest one) or even if I just play with a single vsti I get a progressive stutter, which in about 1 minute gets so bad that the playback comes almost to a stop.

This problem is gone when I disable the CnQ feature. It does not affect regular music playback (Winamp for example.) I tried changing the buffer options etc but no game. The only thing that seems to cure the problem for a few moments is to change the KX drivers with the regular ones of SBLive within SX2, or to check/uncheck the "allow ASIO driver in the background" option, but it starts all over again after a few seconds. I have XP SP2 with the latest full KX drivers and I even reeinstalled them.

I really like the CnQ function and I hate to have to restart my PC in non-CnQ mode to compose. Any ideas?

thx

Try going into system properties and choosing the option to give processor priority to background services. It could help you.

I've already done that but nothing. Anyone using CnQ with KX without problems?

System Specs

these sort of fan speed control can affect the line noise that travels through the motherboard, and can affect the soundcard, so try disablign this to see how the sound is after that
