12 analog inputs... 2 sound card

hello!

im so sorry, but i hadn't got time to read all the forum topics...
im a newbie in kx, but i've seen it's a very good program tp solve my problems

we have a little band, and we would like to make the mixing and add some effects to the voices with a PC.

this is a very low cost project. so please don't offer me to buy a mixer or an expensive sound card.

we have 12 analog inputs (7 microphones, 1 acustic guitar, 1 electronic guitar, 1 bass guitar, 1 synthesizer). we would like to mix it, add some effects on some channels (it would be great if we could separate them from each other). now the output must be a mono channel, and we would like to use a headphone output also... listen to each channel option will be great...

the inputs.
we use 2 sound cards, 1st is the motherboard's, and the 2nd is a SB Audigy. both of the sound "cards" have 5 inputs, 3 stereo and 2 mono. (LINE IN, CD IN, AUX, MIC, TAD) so 2x8, but we don't all of them... if we connect them to each other with LINE OUT >> LINE IN cable, then 14 channels are useable.

so how should i start with kx, to make all these mixing and effecting stuff???

A.

One thing at a time....Learn to walk before you try and run..keeps ya from falling...familiarize yourself a little more with KX...using the DSP window..the mixer..getting input from Mic...getting input from one channel while playing back another without the two mixing.. If you get mor familiar with KX then you'll probably SAVE alot of aggravation... Just Start small.if you start trying to record a whole band when you are not clear on the basic aspect.. You'll Just drive yourself INSANE.....

System Specs

alright with the audigy soundcards, you can use a max of four inputs seperately, and with the motherboard onboard (connected to the audigy in S/PDIf) you have another 2 inputs

add this to the 6 outputs you have your effects system there

some tweaking is required to gain access to the second stereo pair on the audigy
