Mapping keys to effects

I have begun using the ProFX effects (Src, k2lt etc.) anyways, this doesnt really give me the opportunity to control volumes within windows (master volumes that is) SO in the final 3538 version, or the next beta I feel it would be worth while to implement a feature which allows certain keys to be bound to certain effects such as binding (number pad) 2 and 8 to increase gain or decrease it. This is just an idea, if anyone has a workaround that I can use now, please share! dj_stick has already informed me that i can map keys using MIDI and then use 4x Automation to control things however I know NOTHING about MIDI so this does little for me. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: the whole reason I cannot just "turn the volume down" on my sound system is because it is a car stereo: as i have said before, it has Gain, not volume so it either goes loud or louder
