Question about /system32/kxmixer.exe --startup

Hello everyone;
I tried disabling the /system32/kxmixer.exe --startup command in the System Cinfiguration Utility. As I rebooted, I noticed that the audio sounded different, as if it was equalized. Executing the "kxmixer.exe --startup" command changes the tone balance again. I would like to ask, which one is the "true" audio, because I want to get an neutral, uncoloured audio at the output for my audio production. In addition to this, what exactly does this --startup option? Do I need to do anything else, for example, doing a specific tweaking in the kx DSP section, to get this neutral and free-of-dsp-effects sound?

You need to allow kxmixer to startup in order for it to properly initialise the card, or it will not be running as to your chosen configuration. If you edit that line in the registry (search for "--startup" to find it) and add "--once" to the end of the line, the kxmixer will automatically terminate itself after having done its initialisation thing.

I viewed that link, thank you.
Which of these options are launched by default? I mean, I use an Audigy2Platinum audio card, and do I need to force support for it manually?

Yes, if you want a puristic approach and don't want the risk having any DSP FX
messing with your audio, you have to config your own DSP setup.

(kxmixer.exe command line options do not apply here)
