installing help and problem with speaker??

i have three question to ask for your help.

1. befor installing kX driver do i need to uninstall creative driver?
2. Why can't i play midi file
3. i know that rear speaker is swap with front but when ever i listen to my mp3 why are my rear(switch) speaking sound like music in the water and can't hear clearly like in a tunnel????

Hi hang551:

1) You need to uninstall all the Creative software before installing the KX Project drivers.
2) You have to bring up the KX Mixer, and click the "f" to go to the soundfont tab, and you need to load a GM (General MIDI) soundfont in order to play MIDI files. Click on the plus on the soundfont tab to load a soundfont. Browse to the soundfont you want to load, and load it.
3) I really dont understand your 3rd question. Can you be clearer?

Also, please read in the KX Getting Started Guide for help with common questions that new users to the KX Project Audio Drivers may have?

3 i think its due to the surrounder settings, change it to 5.1 and copy

i have found the Sound font file "CT4MGM.SF2, Pipalun.SF2, Saron.SF2, Tabla.SF2" that is all the SF2 that i have found in my creative audigy 2 cd but some how my midi sound different to when i have my creative driver install in. Is it because that there are still SF2 missing or KX driver problem or do i have to insatll in creative SoundFont Bank Manager as well. please help

Hi again hang551:

The CT4MGM.SF2 is the GM soundfont. It's a 4 MB sized soundfont. I think it sounds nice. I bought the 24 MB GM soundfont from Sonic Implants for about $80.00 US dollars, and the CT4MGM Creative soundfont sounds better, to me, although the piano on the Sonic Implants GM .sf2 is better sounding than the 4 MB GM .sf2 on my Creative CD.

Anyway, that's the one you should use unless you have a 8 MB GM soundfont. If you have one, it should start with CT too, probably named CT8MGM. I have an Audigy card, so I have the CT2MGM and the CT4MGM.

If you use the CT4MGM soundfont, and it sounds differently than what you heard using the Creative drivers, I dont know what to say, but you can make sure that in the KX Soundfont section you load that GM soundfont in both Synths.

You should remove all the Creative software from your Computer before you install the KX Drivers (that includes the Creative Drivers)! So, you shouldnt be loading any soundfont into the Creative bank manager.

With a clean install of the KX Driver, my experience is that things sound better, I noticed a stronger audio singnal, and a stronger input signal. Things just sound louder and of a more rich sound.
