Serious Install Problems

First off... I am a huge fan of the kX Project. I really don't know why Creative don't fund this effort and adopt it as their own.

However....

I am trying to install a new SoundBlaster (SB0220 version) into a friends PC. It is running Win98SE, fully patched. I downloaded the latest kX release (3537), but I cannot get it to work. After reading the forums I tried various things... installing the 3534 release, then the 3537 one, manual install etc etc. I even tried the new 3538a release, but again, without success.

Basically, the installer runs through, seems to work okay, but when the machine reboots, I get an 'error initialising the device' type error. Can anyone help..? I have had to resort back to the Creative drivers YUCK!!!

Thanks

Neil

people here will suggest you to check the driver cleaner program,to get rid properly of creative 's driver (reading the INFO into that program before).also a "manual " search for all 10k1 voices on the pc to clean up ("WDMA10K1.inf" or similar), then try to install.
finally ,i got in that way:
after i loaded the "exe", kxdriver did'nt installed correctly,

so instead to deinstall-install kx,

i 've "manually" updated the driver card (control panel-hardware tab-devices),and i 've chosen ("browsing for option") the KX.inf" file found on my pc ..after that it loaded correctly, try that also
