PROBs uninstalling creative drv on XP

My first WINXP trying-experience.

i'm tryng to uninstall creative (i saw already the simple tutorial here around) to install KX

After i 've deinstalled drivers, and also deinstalled teh card (on device manager),the pc does'nt "tell me " anything.
when i reboot ,i don see any "advice" of "new hardware found"..
its like the pc reinstall it in background, just telling me "new hard installed".

i have new-installed the winxp ,and dwloaded all the big-needed updates.

it's somewhere a topic to help me,guys?

Or is it OK to install Kx without uninstalling(it seems a bad idea from my view, but maybe its ok?)

i 'VE managed somehow ,but i'm UNSURE.So please tell me if is ok

1)deinstalled card ,
erased "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0001\DriverF iles" whre it was a lot of "10k1 voices" .......rebooted in safe mode

2) in SAFE MODE,win xp reinstalled creatives,i deinstalled again, started "cleaner":it did'nt find any file to clean ( except "sfman"),i've INSTALLED KX

3) THE CRUCIAL :in normal mode:
KX DiDN'T was installed correctly ,(hardware-tab showed me again "creative")

BUT a "KX.INF" file WAS anyway INSTALLED ON THE SYSTEM , so:
i 've "UPGRADED DRIVERS" chosen the "manual option",
and choosen MANUALLY ONE OF THE 2!!! files "KX.INF" th. were found!
(which are not present on system unless you 've started "kxdrv3537-full.exe" before.

THEN ,i chose 1 of the 2 "sb0060" option (2 identical voices availale,DUNNO WHY,plus a third "generical kx audio "option)..and FINALLY it INSTALLED..

QUESTION..:WHAT I 'VE MADE IN the fact ?..IS IT OK or IT will be most likely "UNSTABLE"?
IF is it ok ,i hope i've helped someone else from headaches, guys

Hi,

If windows install automatically generic drivers after rebooting, try this :

- uninstall the audio card drivers and don't reboot.
- Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> disable the "plug-and-play" service
- reboot
- enable the "plug-and-play" service
- install the KX drivers

works well for me

There is no need to uninstall Creative drivers provided by 2000/XP, simply install kX, then reboot, then everything should be OK. I can do this in my P2 and P4 machine every time without any problem, using my CT4830.

For XP, try to turn off warning about unsigned drivers, and turn off system restore.

Hi mrvomit!

Check this thread: Cheap and easy to make LowNoise Guitar PreAmp . There is a sample from guitar recorded over SPDIF via self-made mini-amp. Do you think, it´s sterile? What is your input stage before SPDIF?

Greetings!

checked the sounds on the thread:the distorted on the fisst page is orrible, the second clean sound is nice.
i have a simul guitar -amplifier called "pod pro" made from line6 ,which simulate the amplifiers sounds and air,i can choose between diffrent boxes too,..the sound coming out is good..the sound RECORDED actually not so much..
it had spdif ,cable balanced and unbalanced outputs

edit:i read btter what it is that little ampline, its quite a good damn job..that doesn't matter with my problem at the moment, but is a good thing you made(though i would never able to build for myself, too technical i'm afraid)

Hi!

Sorry, but for clearance: is this simulation amp an external or a software thing? What is your recording path?

Greetings!

its a rack-thing , super well known in the guitaristic world (the most selled of the last 3 years), not a software .that object uses "physical models algorythmix" to simulate the sounds on air of famous amp models (including distortion and so on)
www.line6.com the main site.
I got mine from a shop as it was an ex-demo at half ot the price.
there are other good for that porpouse:1 is called "jaystation"(1/3 of the price, good for distorted sounds), plus a little one made from behringer, not so good but not expensive at all.
line6 is famous as it get close to mesa-boogie sounds a lot , plus a lot of "clean " good sounds.
Actually i hear good, i record a bit less good sadly, anyway the sounds from "pod" is awesome(there are "presets-sttings" downloadable from the site,to choose the kind of the sounds you want ,and then to load from pc to the "pod" :great customisable thing) .
