newbie, help needed , cant record! :(

hello, sorry for my english, and im new here..
perhaps this is something common, i dont know.
i have a soundblaster live! value , i used it to record from the line-in, without problem, both in soundforge or acid 4.0. i installed the kx drivers ,no problem, but for some reason i just cant record. i can hear the line-in, but the monitor doesnt show any activity ,and when i just record something, it records just "what u hear". i spent hours fiddling with the recording options. the only way that i can achieve recording is activating the ASIO drivers, but i just dont want to work at 48khz (all my audio works are at 44.1).

any ideas of what im doing wrong?
