Fxbus

Hello all,

Is it normal that I can use KX without a FXbus.
Currently using 3538.

Thank you,

Yes, I never use FXbus. Only use the profx effects.

Hello all,

I was not home yesterday.

I found out that I can close the FXbus and keep playing like it is still there.
I supposed that sound should stop immediately.

Does KX cache the DSP ?

Sound does stop immediately if I close the others like epilog but notthe Fxbus.

Thank you,

If there are no FXBus and ProFX and Prolog then there should be no sound.

However, I can listen to SoundFont MIDI sound even when the DSP window is empty, I don't know why.

That's been discussed in the past. It's a hardware "feature" and not a problem with the drivers. If you leave the dsp empty the card auto routes some stuff so you still get some sound.

Joenco is right;
Once a playback audio stream is initiated it keeps streaming even after FxBus is deleted from the DSP.
This is kind of driver behaviour and nothing to worry about.
However, you can not operate kX and DSP properly without either FxBus or SRCs,
so it doesn't make much sense to wipe them.

No, kX does not cache the DSP, nor is this 'hardware default' related.
(The latter is when you wipe the entire DSP and be able to still hear some sound coming through)
