Kx driver for SB0220
Hi people!
I have installed the new driver kx for my creative SB Live! 5.1 digital (SB0220) but kx mixer say me that's i've a ct4670, not sb0220!! That ct4670 don't supports a 5.1 system but only 4 speakers.
In device settings, from WinXP control panel, I see kX 10K1 Audio - 5.1 Model SB0220, under audio controller...
Why windowz see the correct device but kX mixer see the ct4670???
Can you help me?
note: i've the original drivers for my 5.1 live!, but then i install them, all the system works properly for one time and then i restart the pc, in device settings (...or device manager?? i've italian version... eheh) i can't see the correct "creative sound blaster live! series" but i see "creative sound blaster live! Value (WDM)" that don't supports 5.1 (only 4 speakers)!!
What's the problem??
(I think my sb live! is a bulk or an oem sound board)
My system is: Amd K6 II 500 MHz, 320 Mb Ram, MB asus p5a, WinXP pro sp1.
Sorry for my english.
Bye bye!

Thanx Dj!
...ehm... but i've a different problem. If the kx se the ct4670 device (not correct), i can only test 4 speakers and not 5.1! 4 speakers are 2 front and 2 rear and then the rear speaker works fine, but i can't see the central and sub in the test window.
The problem is: the kX driver (and the creative too...) see the ct4670 device and not the sb0220. It switches sometimes from ct4670 to sb0220 or to sb0222 and then to ct4670 every time i restart the pc!!
(sorry for my english... )
Bye

by doing this you cause the computer to rescan the hardware properly (There may have been an irq/pci bus error)

no news...
...i put the sb in different pci slots... but the problem is the same:
kX driver don't recognize sb0220 but only ct4670 and then i have only 4 speakers in test window.
Your software / hardware configuration:
Session: 1725821965
Driver Version is: 51003537
Driver name is: 5.10.00.3537 - debug
Card: CT4670 10k1 [d400] <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< !!!!!!!!! not sb0220!!!
DaughterBoard (if any): none
AC97 Codec (if any): EMicro UNKNOWN
PCI ID: device=0x21102 subsys=0x201102 chiprev=0xa
OS Version: 0x5.0x1 [build=0xa28] id=0x2
these are the informations that i can see if run "driver updates".
In Hardware management -> Device management my SB Live! is installed properly like sb0220:
kx 10k1 Audio - 5.1 Model sb0220
I can only wait the 38 release to fix this problem?
Thanks!

this is unusual, no other reports of this have happened… use Driver Cleaner to completely remove ALL remnants of the creative AND kX drivers, and then start from scratch

i think is the same...
I used drivercleaner... but kx setup recognize only ct4670 and not sb0220...
I think i've the same problem that's described here:
SB0220 - Missing Center and Sub.
...but i use the "37" release of kx driver with the new kx.inf file that include informations for sb0220 device and ct4670 too. During installation ct4670's driver is selected as "best driver" for compatiblities... but i can install another driver... : the one for sb0220... then in winXP's device manager i can see kx 10k1 Audio - 5.1 model sb0220 (as i write in my previous post), but in the device menu, from the kx's icon in the task bar, i see ct4670. This implies that in the kx's "speaker test" i've only the 4 corner speakers: no sub & central speaker!
Thanx
Ciao!

install as SB0220
run 'kxctrl --gui'
enter:
-----
gptr 5f 0
sptr 5f 0 33
-----
now open kX DSP and upload epiloglt_k1 and 'x4'
now connect your surrounder outputs (or anything related to your 'rear' channels) to the 'out_13,out_14' of the epiloglt_k1 via the 'x4' plugin)
you should now hear rear speakers

Thanx for your help, dj stick!
...but now, are 10 days that my system works fine with kx's driver: in winXP's control panel there's the SB0220 but in the kx mixer there's the sb0222, but all it's ok!
I use my XP in multi-user mode... and i think that the problem becomes when i switch XP to a limited-user (not administrator). I think this because I only use administrator account from 10 days!!
Is possible???
Bye

the SB022x/SB0222 means nothing really, it is hte first 3numbers that actually mean anything… which is why i name the model SB022x

i to have
sb0220 model creative sound blaster live 5.1 digital
(creative sound blaster live 5.1 driver CD with this pack)
creative LX520 5.1 PCWorks Speakers
During my Creative Diagnostic Test i here the sounds on all the 5 channels ports from woofer
but, during playing songs, movies, games my center channel port from woofer doesn't works
Many of them suspect about my driver CD because i already changed my sound card the same model but not the CD.
If i want to download the driver for this sound card at what link can i dowload
Can any one provide me with the solution
