Sad Someone helo, cubase and kx problems

Hello friends,

I installed the kx drivers today and I am having a problem getting them to work in cuebase. My problem is i can get sound in windows through the mic or line in on my soundcard, but I can get no sound in cuebase when the KX ASIO driver is selected. Do I need to do something to the routing to make this work? Thnx for any advice.

Thnx! I went down the guide doing everything it says but I soon ran into trouble. I am unable to set the sample 48000hz because when I do, cubase says sample rate could not be set, this could be due to sample clock being set to external sync. This seems to be the problem that is causing me to not be able to record. Anybody know how to fix this?

generally when that happens, the program should give you the option of restarting… close cubase, right-click the kX mixer, select the settings menu and click ASIO control panel. set 48khz there and then re-open cubase

... and then set in template to 48 (ignore error message) and save template as your default. Everytime you make a new song, use this template as your start config!

Greetings!

You can also try this:

1. Open cubase (ignore the error message).
2. Go to Devices/Device Setup/VST MultiTrack-choose KX ASIO driver and set to 48Khz-also choose your latency then press Apply and OK.
3. Go to Transport/Sync Setup- in "MIDI Machine Control Settings" choose KX Uart for MIDI Input, and KX Synth(if using soundfonts, otherwise use KX Uart) for MIDI Output, and in "MIDI Timecode settings" choose KX Uart.

This should get rid of that error message. By the way, as dj_stick mentioned earlier, please post a reply if you did or did not have any success with this, as others could benefit from this same solution. Good luck.

As dj_stick already mentioned, just read;
"kX Getting Started Guide - How to record Audio in an ASIO host"

Yes, I agree. Please be patient, take your time and read the "kX Getting Started Guide - How to record Audio in an ASIO host", dj_stick has done an excellent job on it. Once you get use to the way the drivers work, you will easily find your way around these such problems. Just remember this: YOU HAVE TO SELECT YOUR INPUT SOURCE, and this is done on the AC97 Page (choose Line In, Mic, ect..), plug your guitar into the apropiate inputs on the card, then set up the required VST Connection Buses on Cubase, choose an audio track, then make sure you activate the monitor button to hear yourself.

Edit:

I almost forgot to ask, did your Cubase error message go away?

Yeah, the cubase message went away, I did everythinn in the start guide, still no go. Cubase still wasn't getting any signal from my guitar. The good thing is though, I installed the kx drivers on another pc with a sblive, i got the same message, followed the steps in the guide and those you guys listed here and now it works fine. So I dunno, maybe its some kinda bug with particular version of the sblive? The one in this pc is a little newer than the one in my other pc. I have the latency really low (at the 2ms setting) and alll is good because I only needed them to work on one pc because I have a boss effects processor I can hook to the other. Thanks for all of the help!

Most likely the well known 'asio mapping issue' on certain card models.
(see faq for details, or ask dj_stick.. )

if you have an SB0060 or SB010x model card, you have to test each ASIO mapping to get the correct input, on my old SB0060 0/1 ended up as 12/13 in my sequecner

Well, I installed kx again on this pc and figured out a quick fix for anyone else having the same problem, might be especially good for those like me who do not understand all this mapping stuff very well. I just went to devices, the vst inputs, enabled a bunch of them, then played around with the in, and outs under audio until I foudn the one that sound was coming through. I hope this helps. I did some searching and it seems like a lot of people on here have had this same problem. Thanks again!

yes that is the only way to found out which DsP outputs match ASIO inputs in a host - its what i did and my guide describes how to do this (At least in logic) aswell
