test sound works but still no sound?
i have a SB Live 5.1 and i installed the KS driver...when i did the test sound i heard all the sounds from the speakers but when i tried to play music using winamp nothing is coming out...please help!

nm all i had to do was close winamp and open it again....lmao

yes when changing audio settings often you have to either restart the song or the program that plays it… as doing so during playback would cause a whole range of issues… skipping, pausing, etc

I know you have the problem fixed, What do you have winamp set to? wave or direct sound. I was experimenting with mine and when it's set to "primary Sound driver" in direct sound I only get front channels. When it's set KS 0/1 everything is fine. I am not sure why it does this.. Maybe just something to keep in mind. I am not sure what the hard and fast rule is about winamp but I only ever used direct sound anyway. What exactly is the difference between the two output plugins, Wavout,direct sound? food for thought. I think kX is the best thing to happen to my winamp since the skin.

I have winamp set at direct sound. Keep in mind that there are various surround plug-ins for winamp. Neither one of the pre-installed outputs have surround sound built in. You can also create surround audio and save them as either divx music or dvd audio, as well as ogg files and use the proper plugins for winamp. Just scan their plugin's on their site, You'll find a few that you can use. I rarely us wave output plug-in.
