Question about KX drivers and gaming and my new headphones. etc etc...
Im getting a pair of Sennheiser HD570 headphones and i want the best sound possible from them.
People say KX drivesrs sound better but i also game a lot, with Call of Duty and other games using EAX.
other than improved sound quality, are there any other things that i will need to use KX to get the best sound quality?
Im also planning on using a cable that has a headphone jack on one end and two RCA outputs on the other, running that to my reciever, and then plugging the phones into my reciever. I was planning on using the green connector on my Soundblaster Audigy.
thanks for the help

all EAX is is reverb effects to match a certain area… but the quality of the audio with kX is far better than creative, but for best quality set the mixer to swap front rear and use the black port for your headphones

it won't hurt gaming at all unless you really want the reverb effects… try both and see which one u like the best

What's the point in plugging your phones into the receiver? You're just adding another A/D=>D/A conversion chain, thus decreasing the sound quality.

i think the black connector (rear) has less power than the front, so it may not be enough for your headphones. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, please

Well, if you uncheck, the checkmark in the toggle "Swap Front and Rear" mode, the rear channel (black connector) is the loudest (bestsounding). I dont think I understand how it works when the toggle "Swap Front and Rear" mode has a check mark in it, but the rear channel (black connector) is still the loudest best sounding for me. So I keep it selected and connect my front speakers to the black connector on the back of my Audigy. There is a Article where Swap Front and Rear is explained on the KX Project Official Site. It also explains why the rear channel is normally the loudest. You can read it here: http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/rear.php?language=en

Hi,
I have the HD-600, and they are certain fab phones.
I have found the best sound to be to connect the audiogy digital to (in my case) my minidisc player.
I then connect the phones to the phone socket on the player.
This gives me much better amplification.
I have just installed the drivers, and used my 600 this afternoon whilst on msn.
the sound improvement is amazing. my friends voice now appears to be coming from inside my skull. like he was sitting in there!!!
swap ur drivers now!!

The 570's? All I know is that mine are so comfortable, i forget to take them off when I stand up.
As for the sound from a proper pair of phones to a cheap set. WOW!!!!!!
Its like the first time i heard the sound stage
